Vehicle Detail

Here we have a car that time forgot, a barn fresh 1959 Porsche 356A Cabriolet. Chassis 151912 looks like it rear ended something much bigger than it a long long time ago. Included is engine 83905. We didn't get any records on the car but there are three oil change stickers in the door jam dated 1967, so my guess would be the guy changed his oil regularly, but stopped doing it in 1967, probably when the car was wrecked. At this point we'll never know, but it makes for an interesting story to ponder. The good news is while many a person would have let this car go to the scrapyard back when it was wrecked, someone had the foresight to save it. These days all Porsche 356 open cars get restored. That's the good news, the bad news is this was not a super nice car when it was wrecked. The rust is here, there, and everywhere, please look at the underside pics to get a good idea of the restoration this car will need. So expect to do major metal work to bring this car back into its former glory. While that part is bad news there is some more good news. There is a complete front clip to go with the car to help in the restoration. Sure there are a lot of new metal pieces you can buy to restore this car from many Porsche vendors, but there is nothing nicer than having a front clip for some of the pieces that aren't made, plus you'll be able to say that your front end is genuine Porsche metal. The car also comes with some pretty decent bumper blades. The engine comes as pictured, as does the car, if you don't see the part in the pictures it isn't included. This 356 Cabriolet when restored will be a stunning car, as only cabriolets are. Remember, unlike the Speedster, the Cabriolet was the top of the line 356 when it was new. If you wanted the best, nicest, and most refined 356 in 1959 you bought a T2 Cabriolet. Let the boy racers drive to work with their Speedster tops letting the rain pour in, if you owned this car you were riding in style and comfort. Open car projects un-restored are getting few and far between so don't miss out! This car has a clear title and is ready for export. I am a 356 and Early 911S Registry member with an eBay Feedback Rating of 100%, so bid with confidence. Please ask any and all questions, they will be answered quickly and honestly. Please see our other auctions here for more hard to find Porsche parts, or shop the Unobtanium Store for even more Porsche parts and restoration supplies! On Oct-06-15 at 17:07:27 PDT, seller added the following information: The mileage on the odometer seems to reflect the last oil change at 14346, I added a picture showing a closeup of the odometer.
