This auction is for a 1998 Chevy Cavalier sold AS IS. Cosmetically it is in “good” condition. Mechanically it needs work, but it starts perfectly & drives. I would recommend this as a fixer upper, or a parts & scrap car. That or a demolition derby car =). I am unsure of the EXACT model. It is definitely a 1998 Chevy Cavalier 2 door. On the Title it says Model:JC12 Body Style: CP POSITIVES.-It starts. It runs. It drives. -Cosmetically the interior is very good to almost like new, with the exception of the crack in the dash. -Cosmetically the exterior is “good”. Overall the paint looks pleasant & shiny. -4 Relatively new Goodyear Tires. They were installed new at 54804 miles. -Newer JVC CD Player, AM/FM, Aux Jack + Ipod direct connect cable in glove box. -Brand New battery purchased May 2015 -Newer alternator -Low Mileage Engine & Transmission. Only has 73499 miles on it. -Has had regular service and oil changes. Last oil change April 2014 at 72,078 miles. -I have the title. -3 sets of keys + original owners manual. + spare tire, tire iron, and jack in trunk.-4 used floormats ALL KNOWN ISSUES -The exhaust system needs serious work. It is rather loud & has an air leak somewhere. I can't see the exhaust leak, but I can smell it. I had it looked at by Goodyear Tire, & they said the exhausts welding is coming undone, & due to the rust it will be difficult to reattach. They gave me an estimate of $1100 to repair the exhaust. This is why I opted to sell the car rather than fix it, as the car would only be worth $1600 or so in perfect condition. It passed emissions in may 2014, however without work, it may not pass its 2016 inspection. -The brake light & ABS light is on & the Brakes only have about 20% of their normal stopping power. -The steering is out of alignment & feels different than usual. -Underside of car is significantly rusted. (see pictures) -The paint is overall very nice, but has a few small spots where the coating is starting to peel/rust. (see pictures) -The dashboard has cracks in it near the stereo & vents. (see pictures) -The rear right tail light works, but has a large crack in it. I've temporarily covered it with clear tape to keep the elements out. -The Glove box latch is broken, and will not stay closed. I removed the glove box light to prevent battery drain. -The air conditioner and heater are powerful and work great, however they only work on the HIGH setting. (Its been that way since I bought the car in 2005) -Dent underneath front bumper. Only visible from underneath. (see pictures) I purchased this car in 2005 from Carrol Chevrolet in Crown Point Indiana. To my knowledge the car has had 2 owners, and 2 minor accidents. The collision in 2008 was low speed, and caused damage to the driver side door. The exterior panel of the door was professionally replaced with a new one, and repainted. My schedule is very flexible. Given the condition of the brakes, I strongly recommend towing the car, however if you wish you may drive it off at your own risk.
