SPECIAL SALE!!!! 2008 Mustang California Special Black convertible 5 speed manual with dove interior The car runs and drives great.  In great shape and always garaged.  Was purchased new by the original owner  in northern Alabama who was stationed in Huntsville, AL in the U.S. Army. Was purchased by the second owner,  a policeman, now lawyer, near Birmingham, a few years later.  Was used mostly as vacation/cruising   vehicle by the lawyer, not his main vehicle.  Always serviced by their local mechanic here in Birmingham.   Although he loved the car and did not want to sell it, they needed to buy a car for their 16 year old daughter (and he sure was not going to let her drive this!)    It was then purchased by me (third owner) and it came with the original window sticker and instruction manual.     I love the car, but I'm selling it because I have multiple vehicles and don't drive it as often as I would like.     The car is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.       It has around 61,000 miles on it at the moment. Overall car is in great shape inside and out, although it's not perfect.   There's a few very minor scratches shown in the pictures but can probably be buffed out with minimal effort.     And some minor wear & tear in the interior as a gently used vehicle. In mid-February 1968, the California Ford Dealers (Ford Dealer Advertising Fund) began to market a factory-built,  limited-edition Mustang, called the GT/CS, or "California Special". The hope was for a targeted production run of 5,000;  however, only 4118 were made, including 251 units that were remarketed in Denver, Colorado,  as "High Country Special '68". Production ran for only 5.5 months from mid-February 1968 to early August 1968. Today, classic car collectors consider these cars to be very desirable.   2007-2009 GT/California Special As a tribute to the 1968 California Special, Ford added a limited production factory GT/California Special in  2007 - 2009. The GT/CS is based on a Mustang GT with a 4.6 liter engine. The GT/CS option adds 2 tone seats   (Dove or Parchment inserts), unique floor mats, side stripes (with GT/CS behind the front wheel RH and LH),    side scoops (behind doors), 18" polished aluminum wheels, rolled exhaust tips, faux gas cap (with words    "California Special"), lowered front bumper/valance and unique rear bumper. The GT/CS was available as     a coupe or convertible, with manual or automatic transmission.
