I'm not a car collector, but i am mechanically inclined. I will describe this car to the best of my knowledge. Here's the story. Bought this 1938 Buick Century from an elderly man. He said motor was locked up. So it will be sold assuming the motor is bad. Had it towed home and tried to start but the bendix won't kick into the fly wheel. Did not try pulling the car even though its a standard. That's as far as i went. I don't have time to mess with it. All i did was wash the outside and underneath. Condition wise it don't look bad. He said he had the interior redone about 7 years ago. Appears to have been repainted some time back. The tires on it look real good, lots of tread. The body is pretty straight. There is one golf ball size dent on left side of hood. Above grill is missing 2 chrome pieces. Some body puddy on top where both hoods open. See pic. As far as rust the worst spot is under back seat going out to the trunk and one going out front by clutch pedal. There are spots of rust just starting around some of the doors, back end of trunk and around foot steps under doors This car has been setting under a tree for the last 7 years. Last tagged in 2007. I have a good title. NO KEYS. The car has NO BRAKES. Shifter seems to shift into all gears. Interior wise it SMELLS MOLDY. Everything appears to be original to car. Somebody did add radio, speakers and antenna. All doors and window handles are there except for passenger side front door inside and outside rear drivers side door handle. Missing passenger side sun visor. All glass is good. Front left vent glass won't shut all the way, just needs pushed back in. Frame and suspension look original to car. Underneath the whole car it is caked up with old oil and grease.Tried to power wash to no avail. Inside underneath all fenders look good. Front and rear bumpers look good. I have several more pic's if you want me to send them to ya. I will help in anyway i can on getting the car picked up. It will have to be towed or trailered. If you want to send a spotter to inspect condition of car just let me know. I will require a $500.00 dollar deposit via pay pal at auction ending. The remainder due when car is picked up.
