Vehicle Detail
I have owned this gorgeous trans am for about 2 years now. I purchased it from Trans Am Specialties in Florida. I put approximately $ 20,000 into restoring it . It drives AMAZING! It is a Special edition clone, not a true SE. But has all the trimmings of the SE. It is automatic, manual locks and windows and powered by the original numbers matching pontiac 400 engine. I have been on top of every issue this car ever had while I owned it. Fixed anything that went wrong immediately. I have taken VERY good care of it. Always stored in a garage with a cover. The car needs absolutely nothing now. I do NOT know the true mileage of the car. When I purchased it , the odometer was about 45,000. I rebuilt the engine at 50,000. It has most likely been flipped at least once. I do not believe the original miles were 45,000. Trans Am Specialties could not tell me what it was. The dashboard has one crack in the middle where they always split, new dash pads are available from Classic Industries now and are shipping. NOTE: The steering wheel in the photos is not the one in the car. I replaced it with the correct thinner style, professionally refinished by a t/a steering wheel expert. I just did not have pics to post of it. The spokes are nice and gold just like the refinished dash bezel. Padding is PERFECT. Not one crack. Over the past year and a half, my incredible Mechanic who has over 30 years experience, fixed every issue on this car and did an amazing job doing the following. Rebuilt steering box, Replaced body bushings, suspension parts, replaced fuel lines, fuel tank and sending unit. Rebuilt the rear differential, replaced timing chain and cover, Added new belts and resorvior tanks inside the engine bay.The engine bay looks like it’s brand new. Rebuilt the engine completely about 6 months ago. Rebuilt the carburator. New spark plugs, hoses, wiring. New valve cover. Sandblasted bottom and added fresh anti rust coating. Added new windshield, new center console,New shifter handle, knob and button, new horn cap, new center rim caps, refinished the dash bezel, added a cd player and speakers on the rear deck. New carpet and sound deadening material. Replaced all the seals (Transmission and engine) The car needs NOTHING! The dash has the usual crack in the middle but it does not look that bad. It is covered with a fabric dash cover so you don’t even see it. New ignition switch added, I also put a new refinished steering wheel, exact to the original. Also added after market air conditioning in it about 6 months ago. New battery, Tires were brand new, have about 6,000 miles on them. The snowflake rims were professionally refinished. The car was wet sanded, and buffed. All new decals were put on by T/A specialties. The hood was refinished underneath as well as the hinges. The hood was repainted after the first bird was removed. I had a couple bubbling spots on the bottom of the rear quarter panel which I had professionally cut out and refinished. No rust on this car ! Also had new floor pans installed by T/A specialties. Also new front grills were put in. I went with 77 grills as they looked better. EVERY light works on this car. Needs no replacements. The trunk also has an original space saver tire in perfect shape as well as new trunk carpeting. There is not ONE oil or fluid leak anywhere on this car. I have done everything to this car to make it mechanically sound. It turns heads wherever I go and people are always taking photos of it. It’s VERY dependable and I would not hesitate driving it on a long trip. It starts right up every time and sounds incredible. The t tops are in excellent shape. I did NOT replace the weather seals so the right t top does leak a little. I have done SOOO Much to this car, much more than what I listed here. I have kept every receipt since buying the car. I also have an outdoor/indoor car cover for it which I will include. Also the car has the original model CB radio as used in Smokey and the Bandit. It is not hooked up as it does not transmit. It’s only for looks. The interior is in very good shape, it’s black velour cloth. The rear seat has one very small burn hole. I do have the build sheet, however it's in a few pieces and not completely in tact. I also have the PHS documents and reproduction of the original window sticker. Buyer will have to make arrangements to have it transported. I am financing the car right now so I would have to pay off the bank before I can provide the title. Cashier’s check from the bank is the only form of payment. $ 500.00 deposit after the auction ends.
