Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1972 MG MGB Roadster. I purchased the car in May of 2014. It has been registered since that month, passed two inspections. Car is a driver that I have been working little by little. I have not started any major restorations because the car starts, stops, has not left me stranded and is a joy to drive. I am only the third owner. I have done below work since owning the car: - new 12v battery (car starts no problem)- new front brake rotors, calipers, pads, system bleed, front hub bearing lubrication- new spark plugs- oil change, new filter on 9/1/15 At some point of the cars life it had below done: - Weber DGV carburator with electronic choke (starts great)- new fuel pump- electronic ignition- new convertible top- repainted from original Mallard Green to period correct Sky Blue. This was done at home by previous owner. There is over spray in various spots, some not so great bondo work covered. - aftermarket rear view mirrors What does not work or needs attention: - previous owner disconnected the heater core. His explanation was: "head was on all the time, could not turn off". - there is a grind when shifting from 4th to 3rd gear. It is either the thrust washer or the synchro. Car comes with a used transmission I purchased from a guy doing a V8 conversion. Supposedly shifts great, can't confirm. I have been driving the car, it is still easy to shift. Parts that come with the car: - original SU dual carburetors. These look to be in great condition. Previous owner had the car swapped to Webber DGV with electronic choke for convenience. - new rear drum brake rebuild kit from Victoria British (they were on sale, could not resist). Car stops great, all 4 wheels can be locked up. - new fluids to perform a transmission fluid change (oil)- new fluid to perform a rear differential fluid change - new fluid to perform radiator flush- fan belt- toneau cover to put over convertible top- new scissor jack (comes with original, not recommended to use at this age of the car) During the life of the car it must have had a small fender bender in the driver side rear fender. Pictures should illustrate the repair that was performed. Overall the car has very little rust for this age. Trunk floor is solid, cross members are in great shape. Car does not leak any fluids. There is a small rust hole in the driver floor - I scraped off the rubber sealer repair. Original carpets are in need of replacement, so are door seals. Tires are in good condition, plenty of tread left. Spare holds air. Front hood does not line up perfect, driver side door needs to get lined up better. Some damage on driver side door and fender. Passenger door has typical MG door skin crack. Car is available for sale locally. More images available upon request. Drive home (be reasonable) or have it towed. Test drives available upon request. If you win the auction car will be available for pickup on following dates. Saturday 9/12, Sunday 9/13, Monday 9/14, Saturday 9/19, Sunday 9/20 and later dates.
