Vehicle Detail
This car has a rebuilt title and very high mileage. Having said that, it is surprisingly good condition. I don't know what the damage was or who repaired it but it seems as it they did a good job. The paintwork is probably 8+/10 with good gloss and no damage that I've noticed. The interior is good too - one or two marks but I would rate it 7+/10 at worst. The engine is strong, the VW 6 speed automatic transmission changes well. If it's not started for a week or two there is a slight clatter in the motor, it sounds to me like a timing chain tensioner, that lasts a couple of seconds, no more. I've had occasional minor difficulty with the central locking, but there again I've had a similar difficulty with the 2009 Rabbit I replaced this car with (see below for explanation). And once the side thingy on the top didn't pop out quickly enough (a gentle nudge is all it needs, or perhaps some oil...) and the convertible top stopped half way open. A quick tap to free the thingy and all was well, all you need to know is where to tap. This is not a serious defect so don't make a big deal of it, I'm just telling you everything I know. I bought the car 3 or 4 months ago because I like convertible cars and love the hard/soft top operation of the Eos. I would not be selling it except that my 10 year old Labrador can't get in and out of the car - this is not a joke. Why the Rabbit? Because the poor old dog can get in and out easily. Well, easier if not easily. The vehicle is tested and paid up in Texas until mid 2016, and is for sale locally.
