This is one of the rarest versions of the classic Mercedes Benz W123 chassis. This was a European only spec car with the sportier 4 cylinder engine (same as the 190 sedan) with a 4 speed manual transmission and in the ultra rare CE or Coupe model. I have owned many rare Mercedes, but until I purchased this car, I had never seen one. In my opinion, this is one of the best looking Mercedes built in the 1980s. It has clean classic lines with pillarless coupe style. This is made even better with the clean looking slim-line bumpers, flush headlights, and the classic Bundt alloy wheels. This example is actually an 84 model (ebay will not accept gray market VIN numbers and makes you list as a 1980) and was brought over to the USA by Cordel Foreign Motors. It was ordered along with another new Mercedes sedan by a very special customer. For years it was pampered and serviced by the owner at Cordel, and then sold to 2 subsequent owners who have done the same. An extensive history folder comes with the car documenting its ownership and maintenence. Always kept in a climate controlled garage and has only been used as a sunday driver by each of its owners.  As far as we can determine and according to the original importing dealer, this is the only sunroof 4 speed, power windows and air conditioning in the US. Cosmetically as you can see, It is in wonderful condition. The Classic German Silver paint still holds a great shine. The interior is nearly 100% original and still in excellent condition. Some custome touches include a wooden shift knob, custom mats by Cocomats.com. new blutooth and video capable stereo. Mechanically, it is in great shape having been well maintained and it shows. The engine runs very well with no smoke etc. The transmission and clutch are just as they should be with no bad noises or popping out of gear. It has been recently serviced and received a new factory Mercedes Fuel pump, filter, cleaned out tank, new tire rods and drag link, wheel alignment, brake check and adjustment, A/C hoses replaced and system serviced (blows very cold!), Shifter and throttle linkage bushings, new Bosch starter and all new fuel lines along with a host of small items (down to all the window switches showing wear replaced) to make sure it is ready to use. Also the 16' Mercedes alloy wheels were added to improve ride and handling, however the original Bundt alloy wheels with michelin tires come with the car. If you are looking for one of the most stylish and well built Classic Mercedes for a reasonable price, this could very well be the car for you. This car gets nearly the same fuel mileage as the diesel version but the same 1/4 mile acceleration of a US spec 380SL! While not perfect, it is a very well maintained and preserved specimin that is ready to use and show. It is rare for such a car to come along! Terms: Must be paid for within 5 business days.
