Relisting this car because last purchaser did not have any money. PLEASE don't bid if you cannot pay. I have 1 negative feedback(last year) since 2001, and it's because some guy was not able to pay for a car for over 4 weeks, and by then I sold it to someone else. And thanks to ebays horrible policies, I could not get it removed. I couldn't even leave the bad guy negative feedback. I have sold over 300 motorcycles and 100 cars in my lifetime, with no complaints. If you aren't happy the way I describe a vehicle, just tell me and I'll refund your money, as I did with the bad guy. I have references all over the world, and have shipped all over the world. Just ask if you are overseas and I'll supply phone numbers for you to call who will verify my integrity. Sorry for all that, but I do NOT want anyone bidding on any of my vehicles with any doubt about me, or anyone who does not have money. This is not a game. This is a legal, binding contract. NOW, about the car. This is a very solid 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe. Restoration was started to make this into a hot rod. The hardest parts are already completed. The body was taken off (with 89,000 original miles on the odometer), and it now has a complete Mustang front clip with disc brakes, and it's all hooked up and works. It only needs a power brake booster to be complete. The rear end has been replaced with a 10 bolt Chevy complete rear end. The engine is a newly rebuilt 1976 Chevy 350. It is mated to the 350 turbo automatic transmission that came with the engine. There are new exhaust manifolds, not installed yet. A tilt steering wheel column from the 1976 Chevy is installed and hooked up to the steering box. Most of the joints and tie rod ends have been replaced, and it steers around the garage nicely. It will only need a front end alignment when you get done. Everything is hooked up front and back. A lot of work has gone into this car. I have every piece that came off this car except the hood ornament. I have all the chrome trim, all in good shape. The bumpers are rough, and have been painted, but new ones are cheap. All the brackets are there to mount them. All the other chrome pieces are in good shape. The tires are new. The Chevy rims are aluminum, and in very nice shape. The front fenders are only bolted on with one bolt just for pictures, and the hood is just laying on the fenders. So you can have the front end back off in 10 minutes to get to the engine. I have a can of bolts to put everything back together. The underside of this car is rust free. The frame is excellent. The body will need very little body work before paint. The back, drivers side corner has some bondo in it, but I don't see any anywhere else. The floor pans are in great shape, but the trunk will need a new trunk pan, as it is rusted out in front of the rear bumper. The hinges work good on the trunk and doors. Doors shut like new. It also has the original radiator, which was wrapped up in packing material when I got it. The radiator looks like new, as it was taken out many years ago and wrapped in rust proof paper. These radiators cost $1,000 for new ones. This one is perfect. It has new black carpet already installed. The original front seat is now in the car, and is just like the original back seat. They're still in good shape, but will need recovered if you're making a show car. The car has a split windshield, and the passenger side is broken. This is flat glass, so can be cut almost anywhere. Also the passenger door glass is cracked. All other glass is good, and the door glass both roll up and down nicely. Also comes with a brand new 20 gallon gas tank and brand new electric (in the gas tank) fuel pump. There are also brand new rocker panels that came with the car, but I don't see that it needs them. The running boards are new aftermarkets, already installed. I have a clear Ohio title. I have a very low reserve on this car. It won't take much to get it on the road. I can provide shipping anywhere in the United States. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs. Payment will be by bank to bank wire transfer, or certified bank check. If you are picking it up yourself, I'll take cash when you come, as long as it's within 7 days. If you need me to store if more than 7 days, you will have to send payment before the 7 days is up. I have sold hundreds of motorcycles in the past, and now am into vintage cars. I have many muscle cars I will be listing as time permits. I'm always looking for vintage bikes and cars, so please let me know what you have, and we can work something out. I have shipped bikes all over the world, and I have many references, so feel free to ask. This 1940 Chevy is about 80 percent done, not counting the paint. So someone is going to be very happy to receive this car. If you are a vintage car nut like me, you'll know all the hard work is already done. Please email or call with any questions. I'm always open to any kind of offers. This is all I do, and I love finding a new, old car or vintage motorcycle. Thank you for reading all this ad. Just remember, you can't see all of it in the pictures. But I did the best I could. I looked at a lot of pictures of a 1940 Chevy online. They are absolutely beautiful when finished, especially in red or blue. This one doesn't need much to get into the paint booth. Thank you again for putting up with my ranting. I just felt the need to explain myself. My name Richard and you can call or text me at 567-295-9060 I'm 1 hour south of Toledo Ohio, or 1 hour north of Dayton Ohio, just off Interstate-75 I can help load the car. If you need it shipped, I do it all the time. God bless you all, and keep those old cars on the road. There is nothing more fun and satisfying. Peace
