We are selling a 1971 Pinto Runabout. It has always been a California car still wearing its original blue and yellow license plates. The following is a detailed description of the Pinto. Mechanical. It is powered by its original 2000 CC German made 4 cyl OHC motor. The engine starts, runs, idles and sounds good, However it does seem to produce excessive blue smoke, mostly while idling. The automatic transmission seems to be skipping/missing second gear. While driving, goes from first into 3rd. Reverse works fine. Brakes work fine, but need A-arm bushings on drivers side . Body: This is definitely the best part of this Pinto. Car is straight, and Rust Free!!. The paint looks like the original Ford Blue, but when you get close you can see it is metallic. Interior: The Interior is original and all there , but needs restoring Wheels and Tires: Has original wheel and hubcaps with very good tires. Glass: Windshield is cracked, but all other glass is good, windows roll up and down fine. Car has a clean title and is non-opted in Calif. In conclusion, here is a perfect candidate for a V8 or turbo motor swap. You will not be spending any $$ on Rust Repair . Or repair engine and trans and have a nice little economical driver.
