For sale is a meticulously restored 1965 mustang. This car has been restored from the ground up and has less than 100 test miles since completion in August 2015! everything is brand new. Any day of the week on ebay or at a car show you see a red or blue mustang with white stripes and eleanor wheels. Everything on this car is brand new from the wheels and tires up to the headliner. with about 90% of cars sold on ebay its a gamble of what you are going to get, you bid on a car because it looks good in pictures but when you get it, it’s a major disappointment. Not with this car; restoration started with a clean and rust free CA mustang (R code), with C code 289 v8. The mustang was found in Burbank CA where it was kept in a garage all of its life with only 53k original miles on the body. Not one spot of rust was found on the body as well as it having all original body panels, making it the perfect platform for a high end restoration. In the restoration photos you will see the original factory primer still on the floor pans, trunk, and interior. Also photos have been included of all the original factory stampings on the quarter panels, trunk drops offs, fender, doors, deck lid, interior quarter, frame rails, radiator support, etc. I can talk on and on about how amazing all the door gaps body panels and lines on the car are but ill let the pictures do the talking. Paint The mustang was completely stripped apart and taken down to bare metal and epoxy primered. from there off to the body shop where a beautiful 2 stage dupont base coat clear coat raven black was applied; after paint the clear coat was wet sanded with 1200 grit up to 3000 then buffed and polished for a mirror like shine. window trim, chrome, vent windows, front bumper etc were painted matte black for a modern and wicked look. interior with everything striped the interior dash pad was deleted along with a radio delete panel installed. which was originally done on 1965 GT350R mustangs. all seats were taken down to the metal frames, sand blasted and painted for rust protection, then new deluxe seat foam was added and then finally covered with the beautiful pony upholstery. all new cut pile carpet with mass back, underlayment, shifter, door panels, window handles, gt bezel, chrome pieces, etc etc. the entire interior is brand new from carpet to the headliner. all parts used are scott drake and made in the USA. original 1965 gt gauge cluster was restored and rolled back to zero. drive train everything from engine, transmission, suspension, and rear end has been replaced or rebuilt and is brand new. the original 289 was gone when the car was purchased so a mild rebuild 1969 date coded 302 was put in its place. mild cam, ported heads, new pertronix electronic distributor, water pump, fuel pump, torker 289 intake, edelbrock 1406 carb with upgraded accelerator pump and floats checked, alternator, starter, radiator etc etc all new. rebuilt c4 transmission and torque converter, rear end was gone through and rebuilt with 3.00 gears non posi. new rear shoes, rear wheel cylinders, hardware kit, drums and rotors etc. new power disc brakes with dual master cylinder, new brake hoses, new bearings and seals. brand new lower control arms, new upper ball joints, strut rod bushings. brand new 4 KYB shocks. brand new Global West 620 1” drop front coil springs and new GT rear leaf springs. new u-joints, new motor mounts, new trans mount. this mustang starts first turn of the key and has a nice lopey idle. get in and cruise anywhere, step on the gas and the car pulls hard and has a bunch of torque in the upper rpms. electrical all brand new factory correct electrical from front to back, upgraded to 1966 mustang harness to run 1965 GT gauges. brand new red LED gauge lights so the cluster lights up red at night. everything is in working order all lights, wipers, turn signals, gauges, courtesy lights, glove box light, etc work perfectly stripes all stripes were custom made and professionally installed. (removable is buyer desires) high quality 3M 4D carbon fiber vinyl stripes cut to original shelby specs run down the center of the car and over the front bumper with ¼” red pinstripes for contrast. exhaust brand new scott drake dual exhaust front to back wheels brand new 17x7 rev classic 106 rims with (215/45/ZR17) Z rated tires on all 4 corners Overall this mustang is one of the nicest cars for sale and ready for a new owner.
