Vehicle Detail
This is a very solid 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe. Restoration was started to make this into a hot rod. The hardest parts are already completed. The body was taken off (with 89,000 original miles on the odometer), and it now has a complete Nova front clip, with power disc brakes. It only needs a power brake booster to be complete. The rear end has been replaced with a 12 bolt Chevy Camaro complete rear end. The engine is a newly rebuilt 1976 Chevy 350. It is mated to the 350 turbo automatic transmission that came with the engine. There are new exhaust manifolds, not installed yet. The only thing the drive train needs is a drive shaft. A tilt steering wheel column from the 1976 Chevy is installed and hooked up. Most of the joints and tie rod ends have been replaced. It will only need a front end alignment when you get done. Everything is hooked up front and back. A lot of work has gone into this car. I have every piece that came off this car except the hood ornament. I have all the chrome trim. The bumpers are rough, and have been painted. All the other chrome pieces are in good shape. The tires are new. The rims are aluminum, and in very nice shape. The front fenders are only bolted on with one bolt just for pictures. I have a can of bolts. The underside of this car is rust free. The body will need very little body work before paint. The car was black, but it's had some spray can painting on the rear. Was like that when I got it. The floor pans are in great shape, but the trunk will need a new floor pan. The hinges work good on the trunk and doors. The hood is just sitting on the fenders for pictures. I think I have all the bolts. It also has the original radiator, which was wrapped up in packing material when I got it. The radiator looks like new. These cost $1,000 for new ones. This one is perfect. It has new black carpet already installed. The front seat is still out, and is just like the back one. I think they are original, and in good shape. The car has a split windshield, and the passenger side is broken. This is flat glass, so can be cut almost anywhere. Also the passenger door glass is cracked. All other glass is good, and the door glass both roll up and down nicely. I have a clear Ohio title. I have a very low reserve on this car. It won't take much to get it on the road. I can provide shipping anywhere in the United States. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs. Payment will be by bank to bank wire transfer, or certified bank check. If you are picking it up yourself, I'll take cash when you come, as long as it's within 7 days. If you need me to store if more than 7 days, you will have to send payment before the 7 days is up. I have only had 1 negative feedback since I started selling on ebay. I sold a car for someone, but he never sent payment for 3 weeks, so I sold it to someone else. I finally received his check, sent it back to him, and he still left me a negative. So please, make your payment on time or at least contact me if you can't pay, so we can make other arrangements. I do not want another negative. I have sold hundreds of motorcycles in the past, and now am into vintage cars. I have many muscle cars I will be listing as time permits. I'm always looking for vintage bikes and cars, so please let me know what you have, and we can work something out. I have shipped bikes all over the world, and I have many references, so feel free to ask. This 1940 Chevy is about 80 percent done, not counting the paint. So someone is going to be very happy to receive this car. If you are a vintage car nut like me, you'll know all the hard work is already done. Please email or call with any questions. I'm always open to any kind of offers. This is all I do, and I love finding a new, old car. Thank you for reading all this ad. I'm sure I will think of more. Just remember, you can't see all of it in the pictures. But I did the best I could. Thanks, Richard 567-295-9060 I'm 1 hour south of Toledo Ohio, just off I-75 P.S. Just remembered, I have a brand new 20 gallon gas tank (still has sticker on it) with new guts for the inside to make your gas gauge work. On Aug-12-15 at 18:02:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Mistake on my part: The front clip is Mustang, not Nova. Thank you to the gentleman who pointed this out. On Aug-13-15 at 18:58:09 PDT, seller added the following information: The rear end is a 10 bolt Chevy, not 12 as I was told. I bought the car the way it is. Sorry for the mistakes. I need to move this car as I need the room in my garage, so make me an offer. Thanks
