Vehicle Detail
PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!!!!Thanks to a bunch of keen eyed VW fans out there, it seems this car should be a 1973 or later model. My title says 1971 but so far I have NOT found a VIN tag on the car. So I'm going to lower the price on Sunday and consider this a fantastic parts car until I either find the VIN or get a VIN tag that matches the title I have...Right now, THE CAR IS FOR SALE WITH A 1971 TITLE AND POSSIBLY NO VIN TAG. 1971 Superbeetle baja bug with brand new cragars and new tires. It's SUPPOSEDLY got a rebuilt engine. It sure looks like it but I've not cracked it open to verify. It was being converted to a baja bug. Has a roof bar with lights, all of the fiberglass fenders, hood, decklid, lower front cover, and all of the side bars and rear engine cage. Looks to have a new exhaust too. The wiring was never hooked up so it DOES NOT RUN. It's got bucket seats that I think are too big for the car. It's got a Hurst shifter. Mechanically, it appears to be all there. Unfortunately the body is pretty rough. The sunroof appears to be aftermarket and I think has bondo. The car has had sheet metal riveted in in the shoxk tower areas and is still rusty like many bugs. Personally, I'd pull the drivertrain, wheels and tires, and all of the baja parts and put them on a better body. Or run it as is and beat it mercilessly like a good dune buggy deserves. Either way, I'm pricing it cheap and it's got a clear title. It's probably worth more in parts but I am not parting it out.
