Same Owner for 36 Years Very Solid! For your consideration we have a rare 1963 Thunderbird M Code Convertible. Owned by a retired Navy pilot for the last 36 years. Very straight and complete. Very Solid. Floors are very nice with the exception of the trunk which will need some attention (See Pictures). Doors and hood open and close nicely. The car has been resting since the early 1990's, this was one of those "I couldn't part with it, I'm going to restore it one day" situations. Being an original M code car it is definitely a worthy candidate of a full restoration. It's much nicer to start a restoration with an example like this one, you KNOW what you are starting with. Fewer than 300 of these cars were produced from January 1962 through January 1963. Just under 80 produced for 1963. In factory form with high performance 6090 cylinder heads, Holley tri power setup and dual exhaust these cars were rated very conservatively at 340 hp. Unfortunately somewhere along the Bird's journey someone relieved her of the tri power, thankfully the M specific heads are intact as is the chrome power steering reservoir and coolant tank. If you are looking for a restoration project but you want something rare that very few others will have, HERE IT IS! Note: We have located a correct tri-power setup locally (pictured).
