Vehicle Detail
"NO RESERVE AUCTION" This 1984 Scrambler is perfect for someone who wants to buy and drive immediately. I purchased this Scrambler from an owner in Florida. It was originally a Texas Jeep which is where I brought it back to. He started restoration and never finished. He owned a trucking company and had his mechanics working on it. He had the motor completely rebuilt and the Jeep painted. When I bought it he told me it had been sitting for 3 years right after being painted. It hadn’t even been on the road when I purchased it after they had done this work. This Jeep has all original PERFECT body panels and NO RUST (Only exception to original that I know of is the windshield). Points of interest: 258 Inline 6 (Freshly Rebuilt with less than 1000 miles) 5 speed manual transmission (Factory Upgrade) New Bikini Top Freshly Painted Hardtop Hard Doors New Pipe Doors New Smitty Built Side Step Rails New Smitty Built Front Bumper New Holley Carburetor New Bestop Seats New Skyjacker Shocks and Steering Stabilizer Wire Rock Guards on all Lights New Dash New Gas Shocks on Hood HEI Ignition System Clifford Intake New Stereo System with Front and Rear Speakers Tuffy Center Console Lock Box New HID Headlights Tires are 98% Aftermarket Heavy Duty Steel Gas Tank (I think it’s about a 20 gallon tank) Box of misc. parts. (New Bushings, aftermarket chrome pieces, etc.) · Clean title, no leans Known Issues The only issue I know of is the AC does not blow cold. Compressor and Evaporator fan work. I think its low on refrigerant but it’s R22. System needs to be converted to R134A Summary This vehicle is garage kept and has never been off-roaded or driven in the rain since I have owned it. I am too busy with other projects to enjoy this beautiful Scrambler. It sits in the garage not doing anyone any good. I would love to see this thing go to a good home where someone can enjoy it the way it should be. When I have driven it I get more people honking and waving then you can believe. The true Jeep enthusiast will spot this as one of the finer Scramblers you have seen. From my research Jeep built these from 1981 thru 1985 with a few late 85’s labeled as 1986’s. There were only 27,792 of these built. To put this into perspective Ford built over 559,000 Mustangs in 1965 and over 607,000 in 1966. I don’t have anything to support my next statement but I would venture a guess that over half of the Scramblers are gone (Wrecked, rotted out, crushed, etc.) with probably half of the remaining ones not worth restoring. This only leaves you about 7000 of these original Scramblers out there. If you’re looking for a beautiful CJ8 Scrambler this is the one with a FAIR price.
