Non running 1998 740iL. Car developed a ticking sound. BMW mechanic told me a cam chain guide had broken loose and fallen to the bottom of the timing chain cover causing the ticking. My father in law drove the car to let a friend take a look. Once he returned home, the engine failed, and would not restart turn over. Driver front and rear doors have some paint work. The vertical portion of the trunk lid has a fist size dent to the left of the logo.(Pictured) The rest of the panels are in great condition. Aftermarket wired tail light housing, and grille inserts. Lower black portion of rear bumper has a piece broken off. (Pictured)The interior is in good condition. Rear shade present and operable. One shade on rear door missing. Driver door panel had a repair at one time on armrest. Passenger seat had been dyed at one point. Rear seat and all other door panels in great shape. Ditto headliner. Carpet is dirty. Shifter handle has some visible cracks. Spare tire and wheel in excellent condition with original Michelin tire. Tool kit missing the reflector. Jack present but the arm is bent.
