Vehicle Detail

1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4.0L - 6 cyl - Manual - Full Doors Please Read --> First off, I buy quality older Jeeps and fix them up to resell. This is my 5th TJ (2nd on EBay) that I've purchased, added mods, and resold. This is what I do for a hobby as I rarely make a profit, I actually lose a lot of money most of the time. Anyone that knows Jeeps knows you never get what you put into them. They are definitely money pits, but nothing beats the Jeep experience. While its an expensive hobby, its fun and I love Jeeps. As a single Dad I had to find a way to keep my mind occupied and focused on the things that really matter in life. It gives me quality time with my son doing what I love most. When this one sells, I'll go buy another, start from scratch, and lose my shirt again. And that's perfectly OK with me. ISSUES: I always do a thorough background check on all the Jeeps I buy using CarFax and AutoCheck. I pick the previous owner's brain as well, I want 100% assurance that I'm only buying quality Jeeps. With this '99 TJ there was a small cosmetic issue with the front right flare and a clerical error with the odometer reading by AutoNation. Other that that this is a structurally and mechanically sound Jeep Wrangler. Accident "Minor Issue" in the AutoCheck: The front right tire fender/flare had minor cosmetic damage in 2001 in NC. All flares have since been replaced with aftermarket flares. Odometer "Minor Issue" in the AutoCheck: Clerical error made by AutoNation Ford in 2010 while in their possession. They accidentally reported the 176k as 167k miles. The odometer on the Jeep was never tampered with, it was simply reported incorrectly to the DMV. Obviously a major auto dealer like AutoNation would not mess with the odometer or they'd risk losing their dealer's license. Vehicles with over 100,000 miles are exempt from odometer readings anyways. If you're looking for a tough, rugged, MAN JEEP, this is it. No leather, power windows, fancy gadgets, or other wife-friendly creature comforts here. Just a bad ass jacked up TJ ready for the trails! Blacked out, rhino lined interior, water proof seat covers.... This is the type of Jeep you can leave outdoors in the rain with the top down and not have to worry about it. (But it has a brand new Rampage soft top with tinted windows if you need it!) Jeep traditionalists that believe a REAL Jeep has 2 doors and a stick shift will love this thing. ***** This Jeep is $7,530 KBB Private-Party Value when stripped down and STOCK. ***** (See KBB screen print in photos) Over $10,000 in additional upgrades/restoration: New polyurethane exterior black clear coat paint job New full interior Rhino Line protection (leave the top down in the rain!) 4" RC Suspension Lift Kit with new steering stabilizer, track bar, tie rods (5) 35x12.5 R15 BFG Mud Terrain Tires (These suckers are nearly $500 EACH!) (4) Tracker Matte Black Wheels (Spare wheel isn't exact match, but close) New complete Rampage black soft top WITH new hardware and tinted windows New Rugged Ridge chrome Cold Air Intake system New aftermarket aluminum radiator to keep this monster cool New front/rear heavy duty Best Top weather resistant seat covers New heavy duty over sized rear tire carrier New rugged high durability front/rear floor mats Replaced old/faded interior dash bezels/surrounds Replaced visors, console, e-brake boot, pull handles (you'd be amazed what these misc parts cost to replace) Rugged Ridge extra wide flares that have been rhino lined Rugged Ridge front/rear tubular bumpers with black textured finish Complete engine tune-up (new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, belt, CAI, radiator + flush, oil/filter, fuel lines cleaned) *Clean carfax and the engine runs smooth, no leaks, no issues. *Extensive tune up completed in the last 30 days. *Engine and suspension inspection by Tire Kingdom 6/24 - 100% CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH. *I have all service records and receipts. This monster is good for another 100k miles easy, well taken care of, and ready for the trails. If you're looking to buy a older stock TJ to 'supe up, you may want to reconsider. As you can see I've put well over $10k into upgrades/restoration, this is easily $18k Jeep but I'll never get that for it. It's a lot cheaper to buy from someone that has already done all the big upgrades (lift, tires, wheels, paint, new top, engine tune up, etc) than doing it yourself. Get a new Warn Winch VR8000 (unopened) if sold using BIN. $599 VALUE Frequently Asked Questions: Why are you selling it? Scroll up and please read from the beginning. :) Any accidents? If you scroll up, I've provided potential buyers a free AutoCheck score and complete vehicle history report from Ebay and Experian. Most people selling vehicles (especially Jeeps) on eBay don't offer this because they want to hide how many times the vehicle has changed hands or any accidents its been in. Will you take a trade as partial payment? No. The price is really high, I can get a new one for that price! ^This one is my favorite. This is a great example of comparing apples to oranges. Some people are up in the clouds. Why do you keep buying/selling if you're losing money? It's the thrill of a good find, spending hours in my garage with my son working on it, and the thrill of listing it on ebay. An expensive hobby, but cheaper than some others! I don't quite have that much saved up, will you take half and do payments? Too much risk and headaches involved with seller financing. I'd recommend visiting a local credit union, they're pretty good with loans for older vehicles. However, you will need almost half down plus a pretty good credit score. This type of vehicle will be more appealing to a cash buyer. What's the reserve price? I'm shooting for the BIN price because even that is a hefty $3000 loss for me. But the reserve price is a considerable amount less. I do this for fun so if the listing expires without meeting the reserve I'll just relist it. Someone that knows Jeeps will eventually come along and realize what a great deal it is. *** NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. ONLY BID IF YOU HAVE THE FUNDS TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. If you bid, you are expressing your intent to purchase the vehicle. If you don't follow through with the purchase the deposit is non-refundable. Please secure financing PRIOR to bidding. I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability and have a great eBay feedback rating. I consider myself honest and trustworthy. These listings are expensive and time consuming, please do not waste my time if you do not have the funds or financing. More HD photos here. Please email me with questions or requests for additional photos. I want to make sure you are confident with your purchase. I've sold one other Jeep Wrangler on Ebay and the buyer flew down from NC to drive it home. He was 100% satisfied and left 5 star positive feedback. ------------------ I value my ebay feedback rating and want people to be happy with their purchase. So please ask as many questions as you need to prior to bidding. An average person already knows that any 16 year old vehicle is not going to be flawless, regardless of how well its taken care of. There are going to be tiny nicks, dents, cracks, runs, etc here and there - especially on a Jeep. I cleaned this baby up good and took lots of pictures from every angle. If there is an angle I missed and you want it, just ask. So please examine the pictures, scrutinize every detail, and ask lots of questions. I want to make sure you are 100% comfortable with your purchase and know EXACTLY what you're getting. But best of all if you live fairly close to Orlando, let's schedule a time for you to test drive it and see it in person. Thanks and happy bidding. -Shaun On Jul-22-15 at 14:47:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 7/22 5:40PM EST: Hey everyone, I just wanted to state that I also have the Jeep listed outside of EBay and it's getting some attention locally. There is a good possibility that it may sell outside of EBay before the auction time runs out and I would of course, delete this listing. If this listing is still visible the Jeep is still available. I just wanted to make those that are interested and submitting bids aware of the situation. Thanks for understanding. On Jul-23-15 at 16:22:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 7/23 7:22PM: Detected small (and I mean tiny) oil leak at rear main and transfer case. I'm talking smaller than 1/2 a dime every other day. Will add some Lucas Stop Leak this evening, should be good to go. Also there is about 1" of play in the steering. Spoke with the folks at Tire Kingdom and the suspension, castor angle are good, its just a older steering box. This is my 5th TJ and I can say with complete honesty that almost all older lifted Jeeps have a small amount of play in the steering but this one is just enough to get your attention. I don't see it as a problem, but I like to be upfront and honest since people are bidding sight-unseen. These both are normal occurrences in older Jeeps and not something that requires immediate service, just small annoyances really. I dropped the BIN $1000 for the small leak at the rear main and transfer case along with lowering the reserve. I will drop the BIN another $500 to compensate for the 1" of play in the steering - I feel this is more than fair. Hopefully you'll keep in mind my efforts to be as informative as possible - I can't say others selling Jeeps on Ebay will be the same. Please feel free to ask about any concerns. On Jul-27-15 at 07:17:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 7/27: Lowered price over $5000 from original listing. BuyItNow price and Reserve Price are now the same, bids are irrelevant. $9,995 FIRM. Selling it for the amount of $$$ I put into upgrades/restoration in the last 30 days, Jeep is basically free. Won't last long.
