1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe Original Survivor 13,458 original miles Up for auction is a 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupe. This is a one owner car that was purchased last year with only 13,458 original miles on the odometer!!!!!. Yes that is correct!!!!! It has its beautiful Blue original paint (Olympic Blue) which is in excellent condition and original interior. It currently has a SCAT high performance engine in it now but the original engine and gearbox has been retained to protect its historical significance and integrity. The car has to be seen and driven to be appreciated. This has to be one of the lowest mileage original Karmann Ghia’s in the country. The Karman Ghia was built in May of 1974 (VIN #1442727260) and runs and drives excellent. It currently runs with a high performance SCAT motor with duel carbs. Everything works as it should. It has a dealer installed Black vinyl top and luggage rack. Some gauges were added for function and look great. The interior is excellent, door panel, seats storage area and mats all excellent. There is not a spot of rust on this car. The underneath was factory undercoated and has been garaged and covered since new. This is a local car. Never hit and no bondo since it is original paint. Paint looks terrific and has a brilliant shine. Vin number tags are all in place and are perfect. This car drives and shifts excellent with excellent performance and is a great survivor quality car. The engine is a well sorted high performance SCAT engine. It starts on the first twist of the key and sounds great and runs strong. The exhaust seems to be unique to the engine. The 4 spd gearbox is also a high performance gearbox that is able to handle the horsepower of the engine. There were no modifications to any body work to fit the engine. It basically just bolted on and will bolt of if desired. The car accelerates great through all 4 gears and revs to 6500 with ease. It is a lot of fun to drive and is dependable where it can be used as a daily driver. Closing: This is a 41 year old car so it is sold “AS IS” with no expressed or implied warrantee or guarantees.
