Vehicle Detail
1963 Corvette split window that had not seen the light of day in over 40 years. Car was delivered in Bessemer, Alabama, 4/22/63, and was purchased by Tom Gloor of Tom Gloor Chevrolet for his personal use. From that point the previous owners father purchased the car for his son who stored the car while he went into the service and appears to have never been driven again because of the weak brakes and front end light damage. I have pictures of the previous owner at probably 19 years old sitting in the car with fresh paint and the same front end damage it has now. This car is unrestored, with the original motor that has never been out of the car, original carb, original alternator, original dist., original power steering pump, voltage regulator, exhaust, original transmission, original master cylinder that I had sleeved so I could have brakes, original rear end. Also everything in the interior is original but the carpet needs replacing where your feet go. The AM/FM radio even works. All of the glass is original and the glass and stainless have not been removed from the car. It was painted probably 45 years ago just masking the parts. If you like original cars you will love this car. What I have done to the car is minimal but I wanted to get it running so I changed all the fluids, flush the gas tank with out removing it, put in new plugs, points and condenser, new dated wires, and took the top off of the original carb., and installed needle and seat and accelerator pump, and fired it up. You would not believe how good the engine runs. The original color on the car is Saddle Tan with a tan interior with whitewall tires. The car was built 4/15/63 and Tom Gloor bought it 4/23/63. The are some negatives with the car. The first negative is the light front end damage which I have an estimated at $2500. It would have already been repaired but the shop has got me in line but hasn't taken it yet. When I bought the car the front headlight motors had been removed as well as the bumpers and brackets. The heater core has one of the tubes loose so I have bypassed it. And last thing is a freeze plug is leaking but other than that the cooling system is tight. The car drives fine but not very far because of the freeze plug leaking. Other than the front end damage this car has a great original body with no repairs and great fit of the doors. This is a great car that needs to be left a survivor but too many projects for me to finish so I am going to sell. I may regret selling it later because there just aren't many of these left. call Mike at 4043171191c
