Vehicle Detail

This is a 1959 Mercedes 220s model (I believe they call it the Ponton model). Let me first start by saying I bought this car with the intention of getting it back to running condition, but Health issues have got in the way.I purchased this car from the long time owners widow and it Has been sitting for roughly 8 years. Before that it was running and driving. At that time it was repainted and the upholstery was redone. This is still a very nice California car, but it will need a few thing to be considered running condition. First off the brakes do not hold pressure (everything is there so it may need a master or wheel cylinder/cylinders), The second thing is that the previous owner had the tank professionally cleaned and sealed due to a pin hole and debris clogging the fuel filter. This was the only reason he quit driving it. He installed the tank and that's as far as it got before he passed away. The paint job is a driver quality job and has some chips, scrapes and dings. The upholstery is cloth and is in good shape, but the passenger side front bucket seat looks like some glue was spilt on it (Have not tried to clean it). The wood dash and window surround is in great shape for it's age and may have been redone at some point. As with all old cars that are 50 plus years old the bumpers have some pitting and the bumperettes have some dents. All the glass is in great shape and rolls up and down effortlessly. I believe this car has been in California all it's life due to the fact I have not found any rot in the floor pans or lower parts of the car. There is some minor scale rust underneath the car but that's to be expected for a Mercedes of this age. I have a stack of paperwork (receipts) that come with the car including clear California title that has been non oped so no back fees to register. If you have any questions on the car call me at 559-417-6737.
