You are looking at a very nice 1968 Mercury Cougar. This is a documented 59,000 mile Florida car. Very nice to almost perfect on both the inside and outside. Floors are great, sides are straight. Just a very minor 1/2 dollar size circle of bubbling on bottom of passenger door. We have not seen any other paint issues other than a nick here and there. We have gone around the car with a magnet and don't find any places with bondo. This car runs great and is very fun to drive. The following is new: 5 tires Wood steering wheel Re chromed rear bumper Front bumper has been ordered but not delivered yet. If car is purchased and the bumper comes in before pickup, I will have it installed. If not, I will have it shipped to you. If for some reason I can't get the new front bumper, there will be no refund as I will be sending the original bumper with the car. The 289 motor has been rebuilt by reputable motor shop in Ft. Myers. Car has headers and sounds great. The transmission shifts great with no known issues. Please note that in 1968, Mercury moved to a 302 block but had left over 289 parts. This motor is very cool because it actually says 302 on the block and is a 289. The interior is almost perfect....the front passenger seat had a minor tear and I have had it repaired. Did I mention that this is an AC car? Yes, it has the top of the line AC and it works great with nice cold air. Mecum guys have said that the Cougar is in the top 5 cars to appreciate the most in the next 10 years......there is only 1 of these for sale on EBay right now. This is being sold as is where is. Front bumper order was cancelled as they cannot guarantee me a delivery date in the next 4-6 weeks. We will install the original front bumper on the car and sell it with that. The bumper is in good shape although somebody previous to me painted it with grey paint. If I had the time, I would send it to a chroming company as it is in good shape, just needs to be chromed.
