1949 Triumph

This bike is a 1949 Triumph. I bought this as a project over thirty years ago. I planned on building a chopper but never had the heart to cut this bike up. It ran when I bought it, but it ran rough. I pulled the exhaust valve out over thirty years ago and after two divorces and moving several times I have lost the valve, springs and keeper. I have also lost the title which was never in my name so I am selling this as a parts bike only. The pistons turn over freely. the engine is what I believe is called a pre unit. The engine and transmission are separate. The tank and head are only placed on the bike for picture purposes only. Please look at the pictures without the head to see that there are a couple of broken fins on the jug. I have noticed that there is a broken tab on the oil reservoir. I believe the frame is in good order. you can see in the pictures that the fender was molded to the frame with bondo. I think the hubs are original. Not sure about the rims. Tires, well they're at least thirty years old. I have no idea if the front end is original or not. I do have an old solo seat that was on it. I would prefer that this could be picked up locally.
