Vehicle Detail
This is one of the better MGBs I have seen. It is a low mileage car that was part of an extensive MG collection that included T series, MGA Twin Cam, V8 and more but was used by its owner for events and shows. This year the collection was sold off, and I was asked to sell this car. While the car was in good shape, it had been sitting unused for a while, so an extensive refreshining was done to get it back into great condition. This MGB was the last of the classic chrome bumper MGBs and the pinnicle of MGB production. Still with the classic chrome bumpers, traditional grill, but with some great updates such as an all syncro gearbox, more comfortable seats, face level ventilation etc. This makes for a highly desirable, but very usable classic British Roadster. This particular example a very low mileage example that is upgraded with some nice features such as minilite wheels, full leather seats etc. It is finished in the original color of Tartan red which is a stunning color on these. It has had a professional driver quality respray that remains in very nice condition. The interior is mostly original spec. which shows how nicely kept this car is. The seats have been redone in top grain leather in the traditional MG style and are in excellent condition, and were rebuilt where needed with new foam and spring bases. The carpet was also replaced in the restoration along with the door panels which are also new. It wears a new high quality Robbins conv. top which is still in good shape. The trunk has a professionally made and installed carpet kit with a fitted spare tire cover embossed with the MG logo. Mechanically, this MGB is in very good shape. While the restoration was quite extensive several years back, we recently had much work done after its long storage to return it to top condition. The engine was given a thorough service and was fitted with a new fuel pump too. The braking system and clutch hydraulics were also completely rebuilt or replaced as needed with all new Brake and Clutch Master Cyl, wheel cylinders, hoses calipers, pads, shoes etc. This ensured that the car ran exactly like it should. While not perfect, this one of the better MGBs I have seen. It both looks and runs wonderfully, leaving little for the new owner to do. If you are looking for a nice driver quality car that is ready to use and show, this could be the car for you. Perfect? of course not. This is a 40 year old car that has been redone when needed, but also used. That being said, it is much nicer than most I have seen and will give its next owner years of fun. Terms: This car will be sold. It is advertised locally as well as nationally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Must be paid for within 5 business days. Of course it is sold as is where is with no warranty or guarantees. Buyer to pay shipping, although I can arrange at a big discount through a source I have used regularly. Example $650 to Los Angeles. Good Luck, and Happy Bidding
