I am selling my 1972 VW Bug. I have owned this car for about 4 years. In that time I have mainly used the VW as a tow vehicle towed behind my Motorhome. I have not had the time lately to use the motor home so the VW mostly sits in my indoor storage facility. I have enjoyed and tinkered with this Bug to make it a good looking, fun, economical and reliable vehicle. It has always been a California car still wearing its original blue and yellow license plates. The following is a detailed description of my Bug. Mechanical. It is powered by a great running( I think original) 1600 dual port motor. Do not know how many miles on the motor but it starts, idles ,and runs great with xlint power. All stock except for header with quiet pack muffler. New carburetor. No pop outs, no whine.. Has rebuilt front end with drop spindles and Disc brakes. This car starts, runs, drives and stops great. Body: This VW is still wearing its original paint. No wrecks, No rust, no bondo, no primer. Paint is thin in places, but still very presentable. Has a couple of minor dings on front hood (no apron damage) and passenger side rear fender. (see pic)Never thought they were bad enough to repair and repaint. Spare tire well is perfect. Pan has no rust whatsoever. Needs rear window rubber replaced. Interior: Blue interior is original and in OK shape. Dash pad has a few cracks . Seats show wear but not torn up. Needs a carpet kit. Wheels and Tires: Has a very nice set of Empi style 8 Spoke wheels with new tires. Electrical: Generator is new and works well. All lights work. Radio is aftermarket cassette player and inop. Glass: All glass is good, windows roll up and down fine. Needs rear window rubber seal Car is currently registered and insured Tow bar and magnetic towing lights go with car if sold for the Buy it Now price In conclusion, here is a Very clean, original rust free California Volkswagen. Great looking and running Bug with very nice patina. This is NOT a show car, NOT a restored car. Just a mostly original 43 year old car that is (IMO) very cool the way it is. I have set what I think is a very reasonable buy it now price, and the reserve is set very close to that price.
