Vehicle Detail
For sale is my Electron Blue 2002 Corvette Z06. It has 84,580 miles. The car has no performance modifications and is in great mechanical and cosmetic shape. I bought the car from the previous owner in Houston in 2012 with 42,6xx miles on the car. Note that the car is now in Oregon. The car has never seen a drag strip or a race track of any kind. The car continually receives compliments and I almost always have to answer questions from admirers when I make a stop. The car is in fantastic shape. It drives and rides as a new car should. I get about 29 MPG on the highway here in Oregon (55mph speed limit), and about 22 50-50 mix driving. The tires, Continental Extreme DW in the original sizes, are about ½ way through the tread in front, and down to the cords on the rear. They need to be immediately replaced, but I didn’t want to do this in case a new buyer would want a specific tire or new wheels. I’ve always done my own maintenance, using Mobil 1 5w30, AMSOil transmission and differential fluids and royal purple power steering fluid. I’ve just changed this Transmission and differential fluids for the second time, roughly 40k miles since the first time I changed them right after I bought it. The drivetrain is solid, and I’ve had literally zero issues with this car. Two years ago I installed Polk Audio 6 ½ component spears in the front, 6x9 3-way composite speakers, powered by a 4-way 100 watt Crossfire amp (old amp from a previous car). This is hooked up to a custom fit Pioneer AVH-P8400BH head unit. It’s a great unit, and will snyc to most modern smart phones (did so with all three android phones I’ve owned since I bought the car). It does have a small scratch on it’s face, but it’s hard to see with the unit on. Over all, the system sound great, and I’ve left the option to install a subwoofer open. Two RCA outputs remain on the head unit, and several companies make custom boxes to perfectly fit the low sump in the trunk. I also did a compete brake job in 2013 with new factory rotors and StopTech pads. The Pads are great, but are a little aggressive for pure street use. The stop great, but squeak a little. I also did a full flush of the fluid then. The car has been in one minor accident. I came home one night, driving in my wife’s car, to see the fender and hood on the vette damaged and a note on the windshield. Apparently, an F-250 didn’t see it when they were backing out of the driveway. The damage was cosmetic, with the driver front fender, hood and light housing replaced. No other repairs needed. Not even an alignment. You’ll note in the pictures that the aftermarket hood made contact on the driver side wiper arm, and self clearanced. It’s not obvious unless you know to look for it. We’ve just moved to Oregon, and due to the slope of the driveway, I can’t get the vette into it. Overall, it’s just not a practical daily driver for me anymore, so it’s time for me to pass it on to the next vette enthusiast. If you want a well maintained Z06 in pretty much original condition this might be a good fit for you. Feel free to e-mail me for more information or pictures.Buyer agrees to pay for shipping of the vehicle. I will release the vehicle upon receipt of the funds. Repairs I Have Made: Replaced both blinker housings, as they crack over time Issues: Outside seat bolster on the drivers side seat is slightly separating and a small crack is developing. It should be visible in 3 of the pictures I took.. This will probably be less of an issue if a slightly smaller person purchases the car (I'm 6'4 280lbs.) Very minor paint chips/road rash that can be seen when really looking for them. However the paint is in darn good should overall. Check out my pictures for details on this.
