Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE AUCTION 1956 Ford Thunderbird 2 door convertible. Comes with 312 ci engine, 4 bbl carb, and 3 speed Ford-O-Matic transmission. This is a nice, drivable project car. You can drive it while doing the restoration if you choose. It is a complete car. It was originally Colonial White with Peacock Blue interior trim. At some point in the past, it was repainted to match the interior trim. It is strong mechanically. You can get in and drive it home. The engine fires right up. Here’s the good: Strong engine and transmission – original to the car Good brakes and steering New shocks all the way around Power seat works Includes hard and soft top. Hard top needs a restoration, but is complete and usable. Soft top looks to be the original, but I’m not sure. There are a couple of small holes on the driver’s side from being stored behind the seat. The pictures will show these holes. Definitely a head turner! Here is the bad: The wiring for the headlights and turn signals is old and frayed. I have new lights and wiring for the car. The right exhaust manifold is broken. I have a good, used manifold to replace it. The radio is out of the car, but it comes with the car. It is the original Town and Country radio. It can be rebuilt with new components to make it a modern radio for a couple of hundred dollars. At some point in the past, both of the rear quarter panels were removed and replaced with fiberglass. I have some rear quarter panels that can be rebuilt and put on the car. The bottoms of the spare panels are rusted out, but you can get patch panels for that area. The part of the quarter panels you cannot get (unless you get a NOS panel for $5000 each), is the top curved portion. That portion is good on both panels. It has the usual surface rust under the car. I don’t see any rusted out areas in the trunk or the floorboards. Here is a link and login info for a very detailed inspection report from CarChex. It includes a ton of photos. It is located in Oklahoma City. I have noticed recently that AOL emails sent through the eBay message center are sometimes being blocked by AOL as eBay is a third party messenger. If you have an AOL email address, you may want to either get a Gmail account for eBay or send me your email address to respond directly via my non-eBay address. Arrangements can be made via email to view the vehicle before the auction ends. This vehicle is being offered for sale locally. Seller reserves the right to end auction early. Terms of Auction: Please do not bid on this unless you are a serious bidder. Any unpaid bidder strikes will not be allowed to bid. If you have zero feedback, contact me prior to bidding. If you do bid, your bid will be cancelled. I have had my share of unpaid bidders in the past. It’s not fair to the other bidders or to the sellers. The payment terms are as follows: Within 24 hours of auction end, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is required. Full payment is due within 72 hours, regardless of your shipping/pickup arrangements. Failure to make the deposit will result in the vehicle being offered to the next highest bidder. Failure to make the full payment within 72 hours will result in a loss of your deposit and the car being offered to the next highest bidder. If you are unable or unwilling to comply with the terms, do not bid. If you do not agree with the terms, do not bid. A bid on this item signifies you agree with and will comply with the terms of the auction. Shipping is 100% the buyer’s responsibility. The vehicle needs to picked up within 2 weeks of auction end. I am able to store the vehicle; however, a vehicle storage agreement will need to be executed and a fee may be assessed. The entire payment must be made before considering storage. If stored, the entire storage fee must be paid before the vehicle will be released to the shipper. Once the balance is paid, the vehicle belongs to you. If you decide you no longer desire the vehicle, it is your responsibility to re-sell the vehicle. Refunds will not be given.
