Hello and welcome to my auction. I am listing an unusual little w123 300D as it has no sunroof (from the factory basically all USA w123s had a sunroof.) If you're tall, you can fit inside this car with your hat on, which is nice. I bought this car four or five years ago with the intent of restoring it to daily driver status as its in really nice shape. I am selling it only because I was recently diagnosed with an illness that has greatly limited my ability to work on my cars and I simply have too many old Mercedes and not enough space in my workshop. Because of the genetic disorder I was diagnosed with I do not have the time to devote the labor to this car it needs to be a daily driver again. It's a great car and deserves to be kept on the road. It starts, runs, and drives but the transmission has a "flare" on the 2-3 up shift. Bearing this in mind this vehicle needs to be shipped or towed to its new owner. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping/towing. It has very low mileage for a 300D and the interior is is fantastic shape apart from the obvious cracks in the dashboard. The seats are all in great shape and are the most comfortable I have ever sat in. The window glass is good all around except for the windshield which has a dime sized starburst low in the drivers field of vision. It has not spread since I've bought the car. The rubber gaskets for the windshield and doors are in wretched shape and in need of replacement. They are probably the original ones. All power windows work though a couple are slow and should be adjusted/lubricated. The stereo is an am/fm cassette player and does function, it was installed probably sometime in the late seventies early eighties (well before I purchased the car.) All gauges work. The AC push button panel does not work except on defrost, the climate control servo may or may not function. The non turbo Diesel engine starts right up and interestingly has a manual glow plug relay with the new pencil style glow plugs. The rubber engine mounts need to be replaced and I will include a set with the car. The engine smokes slightly at idle and probably needs new valve stem guides. The wheels are the original steel wheels with painted hubcaps and the tires have a generous amount of tread remaining. I have several new parts for this car that will be included with the sale including all four shocks OEM.) I will also include a new set of Bosch injectors with the proper heat shields. The exhaust system needs to be rehung, and has been mended in the center with a piece of flex coupling and a pair of u-bolt clamps. A few hoses need to be replaced as they are old and bulging a little. With a minimal amount of work this car will be back on the road for many years to come providing fantastic fuel mileage and great ride comfort. Mercedes made a couple million W123 body cars so spare parts are easily found. I have tried to describe the cars condition to the best of my ability but please bear in mind I am not an expert and there may be additional issues.
