Vehicle Detail

Too many toys, not enough room. This is a '65 T-Bird, I restored about 4 yrs ago. I restored it to be a driver & occasional Show & Shine car. It IS NOT a Concours or Prize winning show car but is very presentable to drive around. The car had 18K miles on the odometer and I assume it is 118K but don't know. I have put about 2000 miles on it since restoration Good: All mechanicals have been gone through and cleaned, repaired and/ or replaced. Engine - 390 from '70s truck. 3-4K miles on the engine. RV cam, Edelbrock aluminum manifold and Edelbrock 750CFM carb installed. Electronic ignition from the '70s engine installed as well Transmission - '66 C-6 Blue Dot rebuilt transmission installed 2K miles on transmission. The aftermarket rebuild kit included a shift kit, which I found out was for the later model C-6s, that gives it a higher shift point. Lokar Kick down cable installed. Drive Train - All brake cylinders have been rebuilt and/ or replaced. New master cylinder, brake booster, shoes & pads.Tie Rods, ball joints, shocks and bushings have all been replacedFront wheel bearings & seals replacedNew tires, 2K miles on themPower Steering pump rebuiltPower Steering hoses replacedAC hoses replaced but the compressor hasn't been installed. 2 compressors come with the car to the high bidder.Fuel tank removed, cleaned and epoxy coatedU-joints replacedComplete repro exhaust from exhaust manifolds back Interior:Front seats have new reproduction covers, professionally installed. Driver's seat is powerDoor panels have been recovered with padded vinyl. Look like the factory door panels but won't crack and crumbleBack seat if factory original. No tears or cracks but top side is slightly faded from 50 yrs of sun exposureCenter console recovered with same vinyl as door panelsNew repro carpet kit installedDoor window motors rebuilt/ replaced and ALL 4 workWindow switches replacedVacuum switches/ servos & selectors, repaired or replaced. ALL temperature control modes function properly, even the fresh air vent out the back.Gauges and Speedometer are original. I did remove the dash and clean everything.Clock and Radio do not work but are factory original, I think.Center dash speaker replaced with 2 - smaller speakers for stereo sound. A 1/8" headphone jack installed in the center console routed to the trunk with an amp so music can be played from a phone or MP3 player. Speaker wires have also been routed to the doors but I didn't install speakersHydraulic windshield wipers work properlyWindshield washer does NOT work. The switch in the dash does but I haven't replaced the washer pump.A couple of cover panels haven't been installed but I have them and they go with the car to the highest bidderHeadliner has been replaced in Navy BlueDash cover has not been replaced. I purchased a dash cover that looks OK from the top but doesn't fit correctly at the bottom of the dash. Functional but not perfect. Exterior: I spent well over 100 hrs block sanding the body on the car. It appears to have had an accident on the driver side as there was previous body work done to the drivers door and hood. Paint is Base Coat/ Clear Coat, matched to the factory color code. There are a few blemishes in the paint, mentioned below in the bad. The car has spent its life in Northern California/ Nevada and is now rust free. Both front floor pans had minor rust areas, which were cut out and fresh metal welded in. Floor pans have been coated, top and bottom, with undercoating. Weatherstripping has been replaced, doors, windows, windshield and trunk except for Vent window & rear window drain tubes. Repro picnic basket trunk lining installed Spinner hub caps All glass is original except the windshield, the windshield is new. I broke it during reinstall Sequential taillights work Bad: I'm not trying to hide anything and have tried to show the defects in my pictures. As I have too many toys, this car has been parked outside for the last 3 years and the cheap clear coat used on the top has started peeling. The top paint/ clear coat is not the same quality as the body paint/ clear coat. There is only one spot on the body showing age and it is from too much color sanding, trying to get a mirror finish not peeling. The top needs to be repainted. The driver's side fender paint is chipped behind the wheel due to a hub cap flying off while driving. The driver's door has 2 small chips by the door handle from door dings. These are scratches in the paint, not dents.Passenger rear quarter panel has a 2-3" section where the clear has faded through. Reading online, it is possible to repaint clear onlyLeft front edge of the hood, the paint has crackedAs mentioned, the car was always intended to be a driver so when the paint sprayer lid fell on the hood during painting, it wasn't sanded down and repainted. The hood bears the circle scar of discolored paint from the incident. The headliner has a spot rear right that looks like it was melted. I'm not sure what happened, didn't notice until after installation Transportation - Car is located in Northern Nevada and is currently NOT registered to be on the road. I am willing to deliver within 100-200 miles for $0.50/ mile. With a temporary moving permit, the car can be driven anywhere. I will be happy to help coordinate transportation with the successful bidder. Car isn't perfect but can be driven anywhere. I am only selling it because I have too many other cars. I've done a lot of the hard and labor intensive work that couldn't be done within the value of the car. My loss, your gain. If I've failed to mention anything, please email me with questions
