Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1970 Chevrolet C-20 3/4 ton truck. 78,345 original miles, 307 V8 engine, 2 wheel drive, 4 speed manual, shifter on the floor, 8ft wood bed. I am the second owner and have a clear Iowa title for the truck. I currently use it as my firewood hauler and to haul bigger things that won't fit in my Tacoma. I'm selling it because I'd like to buy a truck with a dump bed ( 8ft is a long way to walk to get the last couple rows of firewood when you have to climb up in there every load!!) and also I'd like to eliminate the extra monthly cost of keeping the truck in a storage garage. The truck runs and drives well. I've taken it on 100 mile trips with no problems. Cosmetically it comes with lots of "character" dings, scuffs, scratches and patina. All the lights work and all the glass is good. The things that are broken or don't work are: tear in the vinyl seat on the drivers sided from general wear, the windshield washer fluid pump, the tail pipe south of the muffler needs replaced (I just used a temporary flex tail pipe when I replaced the muffler and it split in one of the bends I made), the handle for sliding the bench seat forward and backward is broken off, so you need to use vise grips to use it, and the knob for the fan control on the heater. You can reach up behind and move the lever to control the fan. The major areas on the body that are in need of repair are the rusted out cab corners and rocker panels. There is a little surface rust elsewhere, but the worst is the cabs and rockers. When I bought it in 2013, I did the following: Had new points, plugs, wires and distributer cap installedI cleaned out and rebuilt the carburetor with a kitI installed an in-line fuel filterI put new rear shocks onI put a new muffler onI replaced the original split rims with modern rims as no tire place would put tires on the old ones (kept Chevy "dog dish" hub caps, will come with truck)I put new tires on the truck (spare is still the original rim and old tire)New wiper bladesPut a cover on the bench seatOil was changed, chassis greased earlier this month. Truck is a good candidate for a restoration project, or can just continue to be used as it has it's whole life, as a good work truck! Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll try and answer them the best I can. I'd like a $250 deposit into PayPal soon after if you win the auction or immediately if you "Buy it Now". The remainder in cash when you or your shipping company picks up the truck. I'll take a Cashier's/Bank check or Money order for the balance, but will confirm with the issuing bank that it is real before releasing the title. Thanks for checking out the listing! p.s. I'll probably keep using the truck till it sells (too many projects to get done!), so mileage may go up a bit from the 78,345On May-22-15 at 21:32:56 PDT, seller added the following information: More Pictures of Truck
