Vehicle Detail
1970 Triumph Bonneville BEST EVERThe 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 was not only the high water mark in Triumph 650 development, and the year that most people favor as 'the best Triumph Bonneville ever built', it was also the last year before the dreaded Oil-in-Frame bikes arrived,It was also the only year that A new front engine mount had removable triangular mounting plates that bolted to the front frame rails & the nose of the engine, making it easier to put the engine in and to take out! Frame and engine numbersMatch. I purchased this bike a year ago with Previous owner had it bored out to a 750. I put on a new cylinder head, pistons, rings and rebuilt the top end and took it back to standard. That means this bike should have a long new life ahead of it. i had planned on having her repainted because P/0 had painted her and not very well. But never got around to it. over $970.00 in new parts. So here is the good Good: New Pistons, rings, cylinder, all new rubber spigots ,New tires , new horn(not installed). New choke cable(not installed) new speedo Drive unit. The bikes starts up usually on first or second kick. Shift through all the gears well. no rust on inside of tank.lights work as the should. Brakes work pretty good for drum brakes! Bad: The paint job needs to be removed and repainted. solo seat. The horn needs to be installed as for the choke cable I chose not to put it on after I bought it because it starts up fin without it. no lights in the speedo so you cant tell how fast you are going at night.I have title in hand.I really would have loved to finish her but I have to many other things on my plate.I had just seen a 15 year old nut and bolt restore of a 1970 sell for $14,000.00now this is not a nut and bolt restore but she is well on her way! If you want to see a video of the bike just email me i will send a link!
