ferrarab Store 2002 Audi A4 Quattro Base Sedan 4-Door 1.8L No reserve mechanic special For sale: 2002 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T Sedan with 134k miles. As you can see from the pictures, this two-owner A4 is in outstanding shape and has been expertly maintained. This car was purchased by me in 2007 from an Audi dealer in Kentucky. In 2009, Atlantic Audi of West Islip NY performed a full engine replacement on the car under warranty due to a recall for an engine sludge issue. As you can see from the pictures which show the invoice, the engine, turbo, and all hoses and gaskets were replaced with new(which was a $16000 job). This was done at 58k miles so the engine only has 76,000 miles on it. About 6 months ago I went to back out of my driveway and the reverse stopped working and the check engine light came on. I had it towed to a mechanic, who said the codes were related to a transmission issue. He said he could try to flush the trans and see if it resolved the issue, but that it might not help and I could be looking at a new transmission. I wanted to get a second opinion so I had it towed back to my house, but I ended up getting busy and I had another car to drive so it sat in my driveway. I plan to relocate in the next 6 months so I don't really have the time to deal with getting it towed, fixed, or whatever else it needs and then sell it. So I'm selling it here as a NO RESERVE auction starting at $1 so I can get it out of my driveway. If you're lucky, the car will only need a transmission flush. I would recommend bidding under the assumption you might need a more elaborate transmission repair. The only other issue with the car mechanically is the starter - I have to give the car a little gas to get it started, I think the starter is a little weak. The engine runs perfectly, as an engine with 76k should. The car has never been in an accident and has never had any body repair, paint, or anything else done to it cosmetically. The car has a brand new battery in it, and brand new OEM Audi all weather rubber floor mats in the front and rear. Everything else on the car works well, the electronics, the door locks, the radio, etc. The alignment is perfect and the car drives straight. It is outstanding in the snow due to the all wheel drive. The sunroof does not leak. The heated seats work on both sides. The speakers in the car are original and sound amazing. The car has not been modified from stock in any way and has been adult driven throughout my ownership(the previous owner was a pediatrician from what I understand). The car has been serviced as per the manufacturer recommendations, and I have had regular oil changes with the Audi-recommended synthetic oil every 3,000 miles. The front tires have 7/32 tread remaining, the rear tires have 6/32. There is a full spare in the trunk(with a OE wheel) and the tire is in great shape. All the tools, safety triangle, etc. are in the trunk as well and are in great shape. I hold a clear NY State title in my name. Cosmetically, the car is a 2002 and while it looks outstanding for its age, and has no rust anywhere on the car, there are a few cosmetic issues I should point out, which can all be easily and cheaply fixed if you choose to do so- -There is a scrape and ding on the left front bumper where someone scraped it in a parking lot -The car has a couple of very minor dings on the driver side door -The paint is very shiny and in great shape but the car could use a coat of wax -The glove box has a broken hinge on one side -The driver seat has wear on the left bolster -The passenger seat has a very small(1 inch) crack on the leather on the base of the seat -The map pocket on the back of the driver seat has come loose on one side -There is minor debris on the carpet, which will come out with a detailed cleaning/shampooing I tried to be as detailed as possible with this listing, and include as much information as I could give so you can make an informed decision whether or not to bid on the car. If you are mechanically inclined and want a project car at a great price, this car could be a real winner for you, especially considering it has a newer Audi-installed engine. But please bid with the knowledge that you will need to tow this car from my driveway and repair it before you can get it inspected and drive it. Now for the legal stuff - I am not a dealer, this car is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty whatsoever. Please bid ONLY if you intend to purchase, your bid is a legally binding contract and I will pursue non-paying bidders through the ebay process. If you have negative feedback, or no feedback, please contact me using the ebay contact seller form to let me know you're bidding, otherwise I reserve the right to cancel your bid. If you want to see the car before purchase please contact me to arrange a time, the car is located in West Babylon NY. Deposit of $200 via paypal within 24 hours of auction, balance in cash, no personal checks, or paypal, or trades for your boat or whatever. I will take a bank check or postal money order but it will have to clear before I release the car. Please plan on removing the car within 7 days of the completion of the auction. Thanks for checking out my auction and good luck bidding!
