You are bidding on a beautiful 1984 Chevrolet Corvette. It is a Z51 car with the 350 Cross Fire Injection engine and the 4+3 manual transmission. The car has 39,972 original miles and has never been driven in the winter. The underside of this car is extremely clean. It's like looking at a new car underneath. The car runs great overall and is in really nice original condition. It has newer tires, shocks, battery, master cylinder, alternator, hoses, exhaust "Y" pipe and new correct 1984 mufflers. It has the removable hard top for summer fun. It has a BASE CAR rear spring to help make it ride better. The Z51 spring was a bit stiff for me. The original spring will come with the car. The interior is beautiful silver / gray leather in very nice shape. I believe I am the 3rd owner after the original GM exec. I have the original window sticker and service history with receipts. EXTERIOR: The exterior of this car is very nice. Most of the paint is original. The driver door and the rear bumper have been painted. The rear bumper was done recently because it was faded differently than the rest of the car. The car does have scratches in the paint as you would expect from a car of this age. There are also a couple of large (quarter sized) chunks in the hood paint near the headlamps (see pictures). No rust at all since the car is fiberglass. Not driven in the winter - the underside of this car is VERY CLEAN. The dew wipes along the edge of the windows are cracked and need to be replaced - REPLACEMENTS WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE CAR. The power antenna does not work - an interior antenna was installed by the previous owner - THE ORIGINAL POWER ANTENNA WAS SENT OUT TO BE REBUILT AND WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE CAR. INTERIOR: The interior of this car is in very nice original condition. There are no tears or large wear marks in the seats. It looks like the interior of a 39k car should look. The carpets are in good original condition. The original mats are included. Regular wear on the mats as you would expect. This interior does not look like it has been disassembled a bunch of times or damaged. Everything is as it should from 1984 and looks very good. Probably could use a good cleaning since I do drive it in the summer with the top off. There are a few things on the interior that are common issues with Corvettes of this vintage. The original Bose radio crackles a bit at certain times. One of the speakers does not work. All of the functions of the instrument cluster work (including toggling between functions and displays), but the display is very dim. MECHANICAL: The car runs and drives great. The motor is smooth and sounds great. The clutch is strong and the transmission shifts well. I usually switch off the "+3" portion of the transmission and just use the 4 speeds to keep things simple, but the overdrive "+3" speeds do work. The tires have probably 3k miles on them and are in great shape. The battery, shocks, alternator, and master cylinder are new. The AC does not work - it was this way when I bought it and I have not had it looked at. Everything is there and complete, just does not work. There may be a vac leak in the dash - the HVAC does not change easily between VENT and HEATER and DEFROST etc. Air usually comes out of the defrost and vents together. The exhaust from the cat back is new including original 1984 mufflers. The Z51 suspension was a bit stiff for me so I replaced the rear spring with a softer BASE CAR spring (non Z51) and it helps quite a bit. I will include the original spring. I also have a BASE CAR front spring that will go with the car in case you want to install later. Also, one of the oil pressure sensors is loose and seeps a bit of oil. Once the car warms up or after a long drive you can smell it. Overall this is a nice original 1984 Corvette with low miles. It is still a 30+ year old car and has some scratches etc accordingly.
