Vehicle Detail
1976 VW hard top Camper Bus. Made by Contempo campers. Rather rare as I never have seen one like this. The layout is better than a Westy. Table slides into an overhead rack to fold down the bed. Has room for a chemical toilet under the seat, behind the driver. I have put 500 miles on the bus since getting it out of storage. Starts easy and runs good. Fast and smooth on the freeway. No knocks or smoke. Great at the beach to carry your boards and camp, and have privacy to change your clothes. Could use a fine tune, and I may have that done by the time it sells. Original condition with rubs, scrapes and dents as you can see in the photos. No body rot holes I can see, like east coast cars. Lights all seem to work good. Tires about half worn but very usable. Has the 2000cc injected engine as used in the Porsche 914. Last owner did the brakes. Dash is surprisingly good, as most have big cracks. Has some curtains that snap on around inside the windshield. Camper is located in Southern California. The long board and vintage racks stay with me. If I restore this camper it will sell for north of $10K and be out of affordable reach for those who want an early VW camper. So I sell fair and leave room to make money when you resell it later. I have a 100% feedback. Drive it like it is and only fix up what you want. Camper is sold as-is for this low money. Ensure it is the VW camper you want, no regrets or complaints later, please. I can store the VW camper for 30 days or more while you get transportation but the payments need to be made on time or we move to the next bidder. On May-09-15 at 07:48:57 PDT, seller added the following information: For the overseas buyers asking questions about shipping. I have sold many vehicles to buyers in Europe and I would expect this VW to sell to one of you as the demand for VW vans and campers are high there. I am close to the shipping port of Los Angeles, San Pedro/Long Beach, and will take the camper to your shipper in that area included in the selling price. I ensure the your shipping agent appears ethical and will not leave the bus if there are issues at the drop off point. I will collect all paperwork and forward it to you with the title. I can store the camper here for 30 days while you arrange this shipping. It is difficult and risky to buy a vehicle in another country and have it shipped so bid with confidence that I will assist you in delivering the bus to your shipper and get it sent on its way.On May-13-15 at 08:15:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I have to make a couple comments about new ebay buyers with no history of any kind. I have a 100% feedback for being ethical. The only issues I ever had were from new ebayers with no buying or selling history. It is risky as they do a bit of fishing around with bids, etc. and then don't understand that they actually have to pay for the item when they are the high bidder. They think that being the winning bidder means they have the choice to pay or pass on the item. So any bidder on this item who has no history must contact me and to confirm they are legit bidders. Ebay allows me to remove any bids I desire and I will do so if the zero-history bidder does not contact me. Thanks.
