Vehicle Detail
I have owned this 912 model for 16 years and has been in storage for most of those years, being driven only a few times each month, due to my Job requirement of needing a 4 wheel drive type vehicle with high road clearance. I did use it when working in Kansas and Mississippi where there were no mountains to climb. I was employed as a Cellular Site Acquisition Specialist, which required much off road driving to the selected GPS Antenna Site locations, where much of the time there were not good roads to travel, and sometimes no road at all. I did start and drive this Porsche around my property in central Texas whenever returning home between Antenna Site Acquisition contracts . The mileage of 89423 is, to my knowledge, correct. I found and bought this car from a John Deere Farm Equipment dealer located in central Kansa near Stockton. I was working in that area when I noticed it parked beside a huge J. D. Combine, giving it the appearance of a small toy car due to the size difference. The owner of this dealership had bought this 912 for his son to drive while attending college. His son was killed in an accident over New Years eve celebration, while riding with his friend, having a head on collision with a semi truck and his dad would not sale this 912 for quite a few years, and stored it inside his shop, occasionally driving to keep the battery charged. I drove it approximately 2500 miles during the 16 years I have owned it. When I had the house / shop fire on my property, this car was parked a short distance from the shop, as I had been driving earlier that same day. the fire completely destroyed my home and shop, with the heat from the fire heating the paint on the front fender and door on passenger side to the point of causing the paint to bubble and crack. fortunately, the fireman sprayed the car before the heat became hot enough to light up this little Porsche. I would like to keep this car and totally restore it but I now won't have the funds, or time available due to the cost of rebuilding my home and shop without much help from my home insurance coverage, and will use a part of the proceeds from this auction for building materials... I can be reached for Phone call or Texting at 210-274-2248.. This Porsche 912 is located in Central Texas, between Austin and San Antonio, at Canyon Lake, 78133..
