We are offering this very nice Mercedes Benz 560 SEC 2 door coupe in rare Ivory(light yellow) color. This car has 173,000 miles and has signs of usage but is overall better than average for a car almost 30 years old. Other than some signs of minor paint work the vehicle appears to be completely original - no modifications other than the stereo. We recently obtained this car from a gentleman who was driving it regularly but due to a career move to New York decided to part with the vehicle rather than shipping it there. The vehicle starts right up and is overall a nice ride. The vehicle has a current valid registration in CA and a clear CA title. Some interesting history - The vehicle has been in CA since being shipped from Germany by special order to the original owner who was the wife of 20 year Publisher of the Orange County Register, David Threshie. The vehicle was purchased during his tenure there - all of the original manuals come with the vehicle including the metal tag directly from Mercedes Benz with Judith Ann Threshie's name imprinted on it with matching name on the owners manual. The maintenance booklet is stamped through 1993 and about 43,000 miles. Being a CA vehicle all of it's life the car is virtually rust free. I have taken a few pictures of the undercarriage so you can see just how clean / solid / rust free it is. Almost everything works on the car. I have listed, in the condition section, all of the things that I am aware of that have some issues. I apologize in advance if there are other things not listed. This is a car you can get in, start up, and drive. It has cold AC, the radio and 6 disk CD player work, The sunroof works, all gauges appear to be in working order including the clock, all lights including turn signals and brake lights are functioning. The brakes and transmission do their jobs. With all that being said this is a 30 year old car and I have not taken it in for a full diagnostic testing. For this reason the car is being sold as is with no warranties. As mentioned in the condition section the car does blow white smoke most noticeable when the car is idling. I have had the car a limited time - I had a situation with the car where the idle increased and it started to smoke more excessively. I was able to add some valve sealer - the idle went back to normal and the amount of smoke reduced. I went to a local Mercedes mechanic who advised me that the car will ultimately need to have new valve seals and/or valve guides in order to eliminate that issue. Given the issues stated I have listed the car with a very low reserve and buy it now price with the understanding the new owner will ultimately need to do some mechanical work to this car. As stated, I was able to control the driveability of the car with use of some valve sealer but I am not sure how long you can go on doing that. I have tried to be thorough in explaining the known flaws to the vehicle.
