Vehicle Detail
Truly a collector car or a daily driver. Either way this is a super low mileage (59,000) Pearl Red 1993 with the Northstar. This is one of the last 300 built in June 1993. Anyone who knows these wonderful cars knows that is important. By the end of the production cycle they had worked out all the flaws, and in this car it really shows! Everything works. Ice cold air, no leaks anywhere, all electrical systems 100%, no codes on t dash, even the CD player and the cassette work. The CD is a little fussy in ejecting the discs so I just use the 6-disc Alpine player in the trunk. Stereo sound is really good. Please notice as well this car has those truly beautiful $2,000 optional factory chrome wheels without a blemish. They simply glisten in the sun. Let's talk about the color. The Pearl Red with the tan leather is the combination Cadillac chose to show these cars off as the PACECAR for the Indianapois 500 in 1992. It is a stunning combination, and I get stopped all the time with people asking me about what is this "new" Cadillac? I have to tell them it is 22 years old, but as you can see, it looks new. It has a few nicks and scratches as you would expect in a 22 year old car but nothing major. Interior is truly great, and the leather seats are exceptional. As you can see from the photos the leather is in great shape. Little wear on the drivers seat, but no cracks or tears, and as is true with all 93's the leather is super soft. One flaw is that the dash is rolling up at the defroster vents, not discolored or burned, but clearly rolling up. I have the defroster vents and they go with the car. As you can see there is also a small split on the corner of the back bumper as shown and a small ding on the drivers door. Not big but I wanted to tell you about it for full disclosure. But no rust anywhere and the finish sparkles in the sunlight. And as you can see, the paint is beautiful. A truly rare and collectable Allante. Performance. As you probably already know, the 1993 Allante with the 295-horse Northstar was the fastest car made in America in 1993….faster than the Corvette. This one still is. It simply roars. Does 0-60 in under 7 seconds, and at 120 mph this car still wants to accelerate. Probably doesn't hurt that it clearly has been well cared for its whole life. Brakes bring it down straight and quiet, and the anti-lock works perfectly. These are GM brakes and they were a vast improvement for the 1993 model year. The traction control gets a serious work out if you accelerate too fast as this car has enormous torque. Some would say 295 horse is too much for this two-seater…but not me. It simply roars and is a treat to drive. Put it on cruise with the top down, and there simply is not a better cruising car in America. And don't forget: it is a luxurious Cadillac through and through. In 1993 they made some really great changes. Start with the truly comfortable leather seats with lumbar support. Add real General Motors brakes and a CD player with the addition of a cassette which is compatible with a smart phone…and you have a classic with electronics that really work. The automatic temperature control is silent and efficient. The sound is great. It also has a controlled electronic suspension which makes it a real road warrior. I did a round trip to Columbus from Cleveland last week when we had spring like weather, and what a treat. You have a silent good fitting convertible top, comfortable ride, 22-mpg at 75 mph, automatic temperature control and superb stereo and you have one great trip car. And did I mention the trunk is big enough for two full golf bags AND two overnight suitcases? This car drives great. As it should. It has averaged only 2,700 miles a year since new. As I said, everything works. Cruise, windows, seats, lights, top pull down motors…everything. Even has a new AC compressor and the tires are probably 80% tread left. That's it. Spring is here and I am onto a new project. Need the room in the garage. This car will go fast…literally. I'm telling you, this car is ready to deliver itself. I would drive it cross country without hesitation. Any questions, do not hesitate to call. 440 897 1286 (cell)
