2002. The coupe. The Legend. This classic coupe reversed the Bavarian Motor Werks' ailing production slump and literally put BMW on the road to success, while helping to spawn the immensely popular sport sedan category. 2002 is one of those cars that you just can't get enough of. If you've owned one in the past, chances are great that you'll own another one sometime in the future. Once this compact, boxy sports sedan gets into your system, you won't likely ever get it out. Its appeal is that contagious. If it weren't for financial reasons, I wouldn't part with this piece of motor history. Artwork you can drive. Timeless design. Simple mechanics. This is what a car is meant to be. Step on the gas and go. A Cult Car. There isn't a question, whether this is a collectable car, THIS IS AN INVESTMENT of AUTO ART. In fact, I am so confident in this car as an investment, whoever buys it, I guarantee it will be worth more money in a year, then the year after that and the year after that. If not I'll buy the car back. Most investments, you can't drive and have fun with. At the fraction of what Sotheby's will auction these off for in the future. If you are seeking an affordable collector car that doesn't need constant care and attention, and can be used as a daily driver throughout the year, then the 2002 just may be the ideal old car you've been searching for. 1968-1976, this particular project is the last year of production. I had all the wirings, spark plugs, points and condenser replaced. New WEBER carburetor. The odometer reads 36K miles but I would safely say, it has 136K. The best part of my 2002 is the engine. the motor is VERY STRONG and CLEAN. I have videos of the engine opened, running and driving. Good oil circulation. Transmission shifts very nice. This particular example of the 2002, is in need of a very good Paint restoration. it has been freshly Sanded and Primed but will need fresh paint job. More importantly, there is no rust Shock Towers. The guts of the car have been kept up. The last 6 months, it's been sitting in my barn, waiting for some paint. The interior has some nicks as can expected from the year. See in photos. Window handle is missing. some marks here and there in the interior. The Passenger seat is a bit empty.
