Vehicle Detail
Here we have for sale my NON RUNNING 1939 PLYMOUTH model PT-81 pickup truck "Commercial Car" as they were called in the brochures. YES it looks rough!! It was a workhorse in it's younger years obviously! I've had it for years. An acclaimed Plymouth/Dodge vintage truck & parts dealer stated that it is the original engine...but I have NO way to verify that!! Please decode the engine ### yourself to see. Used to own two 1940 Plymouth PT-105 trucks...also had two of these 1939 PT-81 trucks and several 1941-47 Dodge trucks in "piles of parts". I HAD this listed in parts & accessories...since it no way runs/operates...but ebay pulled my auction on the last day??? "Wrong Catagory" they stated? Actually rust-thru wise it's really not that bad!!!! Please look the photos over carefully to see the condition. Windshield frame is rusty. Glove box lid/door is rusty. Floors appear pretty darn solid. Doors do have some rust out as you can see in the photos. Left door is worse. You can buy lower door "caps"/repair sections online if you wish to repair the doors. Left/drivers side cab corner is rusted some also. I have a pair of used cab corner sections from another truck sitting in the bed that could be welded on to repair the cab corner IF you wish. Both sides of the hood open & shut. All four hood latches latch & unlatch. Both doors open and shut also. The original wooden bed floor is NOT there at all!! There is NO floor in the bed. Things/health has changed and i've had to sell alot of my 40+ year collection of "stuff". Truck should roll/steer fine to load after i air up several of the tires. I've moved it around several times over the years. Been in this exact spot for abut 3-4 years now. I have NO IDEA of the drivetrain condiition. Never cared. Had planned to someday build a rat rod out of it! Or possibly move it out front and set it up with flowers around it as "yard art"...but it's just too solid to leave sitting any longer! But it sure could be restored to original also. Sold AS IS/WHERE IS. It can stay here for up to 30 days NO PROBLEM. Not hurting a thing where it's at. BUT I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT....as soon as the sale is completed/it's paid for. I will have NO liability of it's safety/condition as soon as you pay for it. Put that in here just to be on the safe side!! You get ALL the Plymouth/Dodge parts fenders and the rear cab corners sitting in/on the bed.....BUT the FORD TRUCK HOOD SITTING IN/ON THE BED PLUS ANY PARTS SITTING INSIDE OF THE CAB....ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION/SALE! They stay HERE! Title is CLEAR/CURRENT and in my name. I used to have antique vehicle license plates registered to & on it when my older neighbor didn't like it sitting outback....before i installed a privacy fence. I also have two manual transmissions for these trucks and a complete Dodge pickup truck flathead 6 cylinder engine and a bellhousing available for purchase seperately! Also have available seperately...a COOL home made pipe front bumper with grille guard i removed from the 1942 Dodge WFA-32 1 1/2ton former US NAVY dump truck/turned junkyard hauler yearssss ago that i hauled home from Oklahoma quite a few years ago. PLEASE ask any questions PRIOR to bidding/Buying the truck. NO RETURNS/NO REFUNDS. What you see is what you get...EXCEPT the FORD parts and other parts that were previously stated. I MAY be able to haul it for you FOR A FEE on my trailer here in central Illinois...or POSSIBLY farther IF we make arrangements and i'm paid AHEAD OF TIME! Shipping/Pickup must be arranged ahead of time to make sure i'll be available that day. ANY questions....please just ask!! . Thanks and Happy Bidding!!
