Vehicle Detail
1977 Chevrolet El Camino Classic. I have owned this truck for 20 years (June 1995), and have decided it is time to part with it. It's been parked at my work so I rarely have a chance to drive it anymore. Probably less than 250 miles in the last 3 years. The engine is a GM Goodwrench 350 2-bolt block which has about 100,000 miles on it. It was already installed when I bought the truck. In the past several years I have installed an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, remanufactured Rochester Quadrajet, new distributor and plugs/wires and a new battery in December. It has a K&N air filter, newer radiator, fuel pump, and valve cover gaskets. TH350 transmission works well, but has a pesky leak (a few drops per day). You'll get a few drops on the exhaust manifold, and it burns off (noticeable only after its been parked for a long time). Eibach springs all aound. 2 inch drop in rear, 1-1/2 inches in front. Shocks installed at same time (maybe 15 years ago). Poly bushings around the same time. It also has a cat-back 2-1/2" dual exhaust system with Flowmaster 40's. Sound is deep and loud!! Fuel and temp gages don't work. I replaced the fuel sending unit about 5 years ago. AC system was mostly removed. It has some rust damage, mostly at the bottom of the rear fenders, and a little on the bottoms of the doors. I did my best to repair the rust. I did quite a bit of body work (no accident, just rust) and had it painted about 18 years ago. The paint is bubbling in those problem areas where I didn't get it all. 15x8 Ronal Gotti wheels and Dunlop GT Qualifier 245-65R15 tires. Plenty of tread, but the tires are old and beginning to crack and the driver side rear tire has a slow leak in the stem. The interior was the last big project. I installed new black carpet, new passenger side floor pan, re-foamed and re-covered the bench seat. The camel color interior panels and headliner were painted gray, and I installed a black dash cover. 6x9 speakers in the door panels. Behind the seat are two 8" woofers and a 75 W amp. The stereo is very loud and will rattle your skull with highs and lows. New window trim on both doors. I spent more on just the new parts, than my reserve price. Unfortunately, I do believe there is a pinhole leak somewhere in the bed that leaks into the cabin. I have not found it yet, but I believe it is on the driver side. No water damage yet so there is time to fix it.. All chrome trim pieces are there, and in good condition. I even have some extra trim pieces and emblems I will include (I may keep one spare emblem as this vehicle has been with me over half my life and letting it go will be a dark day for me). Also included is a custom set of ceramic-coated Heddman Headers with EGR pickups I built, but never installed. I had some grand plans for this truck, but I bought a 2014 Challenger RT instead. It passed its last smog test, but is being sold as-is. It has current tags, good until September 2015. This truck has been a part of my life for many years, and I have been holding on to it for nostalgia's sake. But I hate seeing it sit there in the parking lot, remembering what a blast I had in it years ago. I think it is time, and I hope you love it as much as I have. It turns heads, and I get compliments almost every time I drive it somewhere. That's why I've kept it so long. I'm El Camino Brian and that's pretty damn cool. Please email or call with any questions or if you'd like to see it. Good Luck! On Mar-01-15 at 21:29:12 PST, seller added the following information: SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!! If you are trying to screw the bidding process, I will cancel your bid. If you have less than 25 feedbacks, I will cancel your bid unless you contact me and we talk. Even then I may still cancel. I've had this truck for 20 years. Holding on to it a little bit longer is not an issue for me. That said, I know some people are making fake profiles, trying to find the reserve price. Its $2150. I hope that ends the crap. This is the 2nd time I've listed the truck because the last auction winner did the same thing, bid the truck up, then disappeared. 1977 Chevrolet El Camino Classic. On Mar-03-15 at 17:03:39 PST, seller added the following information: Hey everyone, I realized yesterday I did not attach any photos of the spare badges and other parts I will include with the El Camino. I have 1 New Old Stock "El Camino" badge in the original box, a "classic" badge in an unopened bag, quite a few interior fasteners still in unopened numbered bags, a EGR-delete plate for the manifold, and a small window trim piece that I searched long and hard for, and paid a lot for (I can't remember exactly, but I believe I bought a pair for like $60 because it was the only set I could find). Also included is a carb jet kit. The remanufactured Q-jet came with 74 jets, but ran too rich to pass smog. So I installed 71's from the kit, what they used in 1977. The 74's and several other pairs of unused jets are in the kit. Also, a carb rebuild kit with just a couple gaskets removed. I replaced a couple of the original gaskets because during tuning it backfired pretty good, so I figured I should change the gaskets to be sure they weren't blown. I think I also installed a new accelerator plunger from the kit. Good Luck!
