Vehicle Detail

Well, I'm reluctantly listing for sale My 1916 Ford Model T Scout Car. I built this using an original 1916 chassis from an old touring I had. The engine and trans had been rebuilt before I bought the touring. After selling off the original touring body and rear fenders I started building this from a picture I have of an original car used during WW-1. All the sheet metal on the T is original except the rear fenders which are new steel ones. The body is all wood as the original car had been built I tried to keep it as close as possible to the picture I had of it. The T runs and drives great, its very light and scoots right on down the road maybe a little faster than it should. It has a Brass Works flat tube radiator which works great in parades also it has had electric starter added to the original '16 motor which makes it a lot nicer when you are in a parade. It is showing some signs of wear with some scratches and paint chips but to me this thing looks better the older it gets. The paint color was matched off an original NOS WW-1 Model T Ford headlight a friend had. There is a couple of things that will need some attention that is the headlights were never wired up and the differential needs the thrust washers replaced which I have new ones for it and will go with the T. The keroseen side and tail lights do work good. The Browning 1917 water cooled Machine Gun is a replica I made for the T, it's made of steel and brass and it looks the part very well. The rifle scabbard mounted on the driver side is dated 1918 and has just a wooden gun stock in it for looks The shovel on the left fender is also a WW-1 era piece. On the left front side lamp is a original WW-1 personal bag that I picked up for it. I also have a wooden 30 call ammo box which goes with it too. The old T has been a lot of fun, always draws a crowd at car shows I really hate to sell it but thats how it goes. I can store this inside ( for an arranged time period )until the new owner can make arrangements for pickup.
