Vehicle Detail
I have a great PDF of this bus! From the stripping to the welding and bodywork, to the painting! I have seen a number of 68 to 72 Westy's on eBay for the last year and I haven't seen any that are done as well as this. A father and son team put in 1800 hours into this restoration and finished early this summer. I had a custom rock crawler Jeep they wanted, so I traded them straight up. They got a great deal and I got a Westy to go with my 2 VW Things and Bugs. I really thought my wife would want to hit the road a few weekends and go camp under the stars in Florida, East Tenn, Arkansas, or Missouri. Man was I wrong! I went a few times and had a ball, but I think this really needs to find a home with a family or someone that will really use it. The father and son team also basically replaced everything that bolted or screwed on with new products from the top VW restoration parts manufacturers. This same father and son are carpenters and cabinet makers and made the custom cabinets, trim, siding and headliner! The bus was stripped down to it's metal and massaged, patched, and painted from top to bottom. They even restored and rebuilt the fiberglass camper top and put in new wood trim for the new canvas top. This bus runs smooth and straight and is very comfortable...even on rough roads. The stereo kicks and man I wish I had this Bus when I was a teen... I may never have come back from the beach! I live just south of Memphis TN and am basically in the middle of the country! Tomorrow I'm putting my freshly rebuilt 1600 with dual carbs in. This will be like having a new Bus with just a little more oomph than the original. You can come and pick it up here and drive home or get it shipped. You will be very happy with this bus...I called it Buster! You can name it what ever you want. The Reserve has been lowered and whoever gets this bus is going to be very happy! If you want a great PDF of this bus send me a question and I'll forward it to you!
