Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1991 Volvo 240. The car features a manual crank sunroof and a 5 speed manual transmission. This car has heated seats and power windows. The car does not have ABS or cruise control. I drive it every day, and I have owned it for about two years. During that time, I've performed pretty much all of the maintenance listed below myself, except for the clutch replacement. The car is not ready for Pebble Beach, but is a solid runner and has quite a bit going for it. I am listing it because I could use something a bit more versatile for my ongoing home improvement projects. Our family has owned dozens of 122, 140, 240, 740, and 940s over the years and this later model 240 with the sunroof, 5 speed, and Bosch lh 3.1 is one of our favorites. There is no reserve on the auction, so the last person to bid (and pay) will get the car. I bought the car from a local garage, and not an individual owner, so I don't have much history on the car. I don't believe it was in any recent accidents, the inner wings look good, and the car drives straight down the highway. Buyer pays for shipping. If you have any questions, please ask. Pros: New alternator and battery. New clutch, installed Summer 2013 by local European car specialist. New timing belt and tensioner. New spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor. New in-tank fuel pump. New fuel pressure regulator. New fuel pump relay. New ignition amplifier New radio suppression relay. New brake rotors and brake pads all around. New-used air mass meter (aka: MAF). New-used idle air control unit (aka: IAC). I removed and bypassed the engine temp compensation board after it went bad. I replaced the odometer gear when it broke. Odometer and trip odometer function normally. I have replaced the ignition switch, but not the key and tumbler assembly. The car has two clear headlights and a newer grille. Original radio works, but reception is not spectacular. Cons: Windshield needs to be resealed. I have a new trim gasket that will come with the car. Reverse lights regularly blow a fuse when shifting into reverse gear. Speedometer works most of the time, but occasionally needs a few minutes to "wake up". The crankcase ventilation system needs to be cleaned. A chronic issue with these cars, I just have not had the time to get to it.
