According to the purchase materials and agreement, which I can produce for the buyer,: "We [they] purchased the car from an insurance company as a “front end collision.” There was neither flood/water damage nor mechanical damage at the moment of sale. It started, drove, and ran without problems. The hood, fenders, and front bumper were all replaced with Toyota OEM parts. No airbags were deployed. The vehicle was professionally repaired and, after passing Florida state DMV inspection, was issued a “rebuilt” title.” The vehicle similarly passed KY DMV inspection. There are no known mechanical flaws on this vehicle. I did have the air conditioning charged but Toyota did not detect a leak from the dye test. It's worked fine since. Toyota did a recall on the hybrid inverter pump a few years ago. I replaced the tires at 38,418 miles. (Stock tires on this year Prius were notoriously poor.)There are a few cosmetic issues outlined in seller's notes above: Exterior roof exhibits some paint delamination. There is a small dent at the wheel well of driver's side front (see photos.) Hood exhibits some paint flecks. I removed the rubber pad covering the hatch latch because it was sticky in warm weather. This is not very visible and this is a known issue with certain Toyota vehicles. The hatch is fully functional.I am pricing this vehicle to account for any work that the buyer may opt to do on the exterior roof or other cosmetic fine-tuning. The mechanical merits of this vehicle, and its low use as a commuter car to and from work, strongly outweigh the exterior cosmetic issues outlined here.
