Toyota Camry LE 2005 Ahoy, Camry buyers, here is my near perfect 2005 Camry LE, with a 'small' impediment -- A check engine light. But -- read on, you will like the rest. I bought this Camry, not running, with the agreement of a 'tame' mechanic who was willing to work on it part time. Work included a replacement head, and lottssaa other things: Timing chain and sprockets, ball joints, windshield, brakes, new installed carpets, new headlights -- much more. I'm no longer agile enough to do all these things, but I still damn-well know good work, and what has been done is impressive! In all, I have more than $2100.00 in receipts and costs, not including the vehicle and mechanic. (These papers will be included with the car). The front tires are 'fair', (I'd replace them - your call), and do a front alignment. Very nice chrome wheels. A 'left' coast car with absolutely NO rust. About the time of completion, but with the check engine light 'on', my mechanic got a job offer in Oregon that was too good to refuse. I'm not willing to spend (even) more money on a car which runs perfect, and looks great, to turn-off a lousy stinkin' little light. The codes are: P0012 and P0420. The first has to do with camshaft position timing (it is variable) -- all components around it are new or rebuilt stuff -- sensor?. The second -- catalytic -- may want a new (costly) converter. The pix show the car well. The hood and bumper re-paint -w- clear coat will be done in a few days. You folks in a locale which does not require smog-check can put a cover over that lousy light, and drive this 'thing-of-beauty' with a smile on your face, and a bunch of $$$$$$$$$ in your pocket, as compensation for a 'no-problem' problem. This car is as nice as the ones on craigslist and ebay that are going for $7,000 to $10,000 (with no nasty light) You guys can figure what the light is worth to you. My loss is your gain. Title: So: To CA DMV for a 'title-only'. Dealing with bureaucrats is like herding cats. Because I'd driven it there for verification, had a temporary certificate ---- yada-yada-no-can-do!! A friend does it at Chico OK. 'Go figure'. Before I 'left quietly!!!', I insisted that they carefully check the Washington State title for error/impediment/fault. They did, and they assured me that with the WA title, and a bill of sale, there would be no problem anywhere.
