Vehicle Detail
1968 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE In 1968 Smokin' Joe Frazier TKO’ed Buster Mathis in the 11th round, clinching the heavyweight boxing title, the Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup, the Green Bay Packers win Super Bowl II, Life Magazine named Jimi Hendrix "The most spectacular guitarist in the world", and the Ford Mustang, well, the Mustang got side markers. For sale is a 1968 Ford Mustang convertible, I’m told that the Stang was originally purchased at a Ford dealership in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1968. I acquired the Stang in 1991 and I’m either the 2nd or 3rd owner. The Stang has spent its entire existence in the Victoria, British Columbia, Canada area, and just to make it clear to our friends to the south, this part of Canada is not covered with snow 12 months of the year. The weather is incredibly mild here and if we happen to see snow during the winter season, it may stay 1 or 2 days max. The Stang has always been garaged stored since 1991 and was in relatively good shape when I acquired it in 1991. Over the years, I had experienced local companies in the Victoria, BC area perform various work on the Stang. Replacement parts used were both Ford OEM and reproduction parts. All numbers match on the Stang except for the exterior paint color. The exterior paint color on the Stang reflects the color Diamond Blue; you would never know the color change looking at the body and existing pristine red paint job. There have been no modifications, altering or aftermarket parts used on the STANG, the vehicle is completely stock. The exterior and interior of the Stang is very tastefully restored. Mechanically, the Stang is very sound and strong. The 289 cubic-inch V-8 engine with 2-barrel carburetor has that get up and go that matches any other American made muscle car; and let’s not forget that delightful deep rumbling sound from the Ford engine. Production numbers for the 1968 Ford Mustang convertible are rather low at 22,037 units compared to the production numbers for the standard coupe in this year and convertibles from other model years. The odometer reads 41,960 miles. THE STANG’S VIN NO. IS: 8R03C157874 THE STANG’S VIN NO.
