Vehicle Detail
PACKARD ENTHUSIASTS REJOICE. THIS IS A TRUE TIME MACHINE. 1950 Packard Eight 23rd Series, model 2392-5, Touring Sedan. RARE Automatic Transmission This 41,000 mile (yes that's right, 41,000 miles) original California black plate car with up to date registration. In incredibly well preserved condition. It has zero corrosion or rust and the single ash green repaint is applied to a super straight body. While the repaint is not show-quality it is still very nice and a pleasure to look at, better than many brand new cars these days. The car runs excellent and the optional Ultramatic transmission works and shifts the way it was designed to. The low mileage 288 ci straight eight engine is running strong and smooth and still wears its original Bell Green paint from the factory. The original decal is still in place on the air cleaner and a new correct 6 volt battery insures plenty of cranking power and dependable starts. Hardly worn, correct bias ply, wide whitewalls finish out the mechanical requirements and as a result the car steers and stops straight and true the way it was meant to. Even has it's original jack. A silky smooth ride like this can only be found on a low mileage original car from the early 50's. "Ask The Man Who Owns One" wasn't the Packard company slogan for nothing. Still, we've saved the best for last. The stock interior of this car is still in excellent original condition. It's not perfect but its darn close, at least 95%. The original carpet and original front rubber floor mat are like new. The doors close tightly and solidly and the shut lines are excellent. The windows are tight and roll up and down easily and smoothly. The original wood grain finish on the dash and door caps is literally like new with no checking, cracking or crazing and the interior chrome is perfect. The original bronze steering wheel is unblemished right down to the center emblem. And the ivory shift and control knobs look like they just left the factory. Even the oval rubber brake pad has only minimal visible wear, a testament to the cars original miles. Very low reserve on this gorgeous Collector car, 951-776-9603 please call with any questions on the car. Open to accepting offers prior to auctions end. California title with current registration.
