Vehicle Detail

This has been a good, reliable, fuel-efficient car for my girlfriend and I. We purchased the car from a reputable used car dealer in Massachusetts. The original owner was a local driver and did not drive very much. This car has always been smoke-free from what we can tell. There is only 139,108 miles on this car, despite it being 13 years old. We recently relocated to San Francisco, CA and had the car shipped out to CA from Plymouth, MA. We live in the city and found that we no longer need a car so we are looking to sell quickly (parking spaces are expensive). There is rust present on the car, but nothing that we can tell that is threatening the car structurally. We recently had the muffler patched due to rust underneath. The “Check Engine” Light is on and came on recently. As a seller and a non-mechanic, I want to make sure I inform you of all known defects. They are listed below: Car jerks forward when stopped or idle: when foot is on brake, the car doesn’t actually move, but the RPM gauge is bouncing a bit. The car had been sitting in a garage for 4 months without being used, when we recently drove it, we noticed this issue. The “Check Engine” light subsequently came on while we were driving. In reading about this issue online, we found the following response that fixed the same issue that another owner was having with their Nissan Sentra ‘02: “MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) ground wire was loose. I tightened it back up, and the issue went away…try re-grounding the MAF. Even the slightest resistance in the ground wire of the MAF will cause it to send the wrong information to the ECU regarding how much air is being drawn into the motor, which will throw off the critical 14.7 to 1 air-to-fuel ratio, an issue which can manifest itself in a manner consistent with your description, and is also fairly common in Nissan motors.” Of course, this may not fix the issue at hand but I wanted to provide this information to a potential buyer. Belt squeals when a/c is ON. Car was diagnosed by a reputable auto servicer in the bay area as needing a new a/c compressor. These issues represent the only known issues at this time. The car is being sold “as-is” and the buyer realizes that they are responsible for fixing any defects upon purchase. Once this car is fixed, it should be a valuable asset to either drive or re-sell. Thank you, and happy bidding. Serious bidders only, please! Feel free to message me with any questions you may have. The buyer is responsible for pick-up and/or shipping of the car. Initial deposit will be accepted through PayPal. Remaining amount can either be paid through PayPal or Cashier's Check. Regards, David
