Vehicle Detail

1989 LINCOLN TOWN CAR "1989: Last year of the first-generation Town Car. The 1989 models are distinguished by special trim features including satin black paint for grille blades, trim between headlights, and amber (instead of clear) front parking lamps. The "Lincoln" front-end badging is moved from above left headlight onto grille and changed to large sans-serif script. In the rear, the brushed-metal panel was given a pinstripe finish and all badging was moved from the panel onto the trunk lid. All models feature a landau roof with a smaller, more formal "frenched" rear window. All non-Cartier models also include an embedded Lincoln "star" emblems in their opera windows." (Wikipedia.com) I decided to help get this vehicle sold I would take a video of how GREAT this car runs. Click on the following link to hear the car run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVNdVM-rraE For shipping information, the car is located in Spring Hill, Florida and the zip is 34606. I have for sale one 1989 Lincoln Town car. I am the 3rd owner, not the 4th as stated on auto check and the vehicle was titled last within the same family. I could be considered the 2nd owner since the car remained in the same family until I bought it. The vehicle is a 1989, but was never registered until 1994 and has 153,004 EASILY driven miles on it. The average annual miles driven is around 6,120 miles and that's amazing for the year of the vehicle. I only drove the car approximately 3,250 miles since I bought it. The car itself runs flawless, shifts through the gears perfect; the motor runs impeccable. The car is originally from New Jersey as I have the original books on the car and where it was purchased by the last owner. The older gentleman who owned the car last could not drive anymore so he gave his son the car and he traded it in for a newer vehicle. Such a shame as this vehicle would have lasted them for years to come. The ONLY reason I am selling it is I own another Lincoln Town car. I have owned that car for several years. I just don't need this car and don't want it sitting around. It deserves to be driven not just sitting in the driveway. I start and drive it once a week just to keep the battery charged. I haven't noticed any oil leaks or any other engine leaks of any form. I changed the oil using pure synthetic as that is all I use in my vehicles and I'm definitely not over the miles. I checked it 2 weeks ago and it's still on the full mark. The 5.0 302 engines are the strongest engines Ford ever built. It's tough and this one will definitely last you for years and years to come. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it cross country and back again. I recharged the air conditioner when I bought the car and it blew really cold air the entire time I drove it. When I parked the car as I no longer needed to drive it, it was still blowing cold. I haven't ran it in awhile so I'm not sure, but there shouldn't be any issues with the air. The heat blows really hot as well. The tires have a lot of tread left on them. They shouldn't need changing for a few more thousand miles. I'd say there is about 20,000 miles left on the tires before they would need to be replaced. However, if you drive the car as easily as it's been driven it should be about 3 1/2 years before you would need to buy new tires. The car has EXCELLENT gas mileage for having such a big motor and body size. At the current gas prices, this car is ready for a road trip. I currently get about 25-28 mpg on a full tank. On to the negatives - The interior needs a minor facelift. Hey, what do you expect? It's original. Never been worked on at all. The seats are in descent shape for a 25 year old vehicle. There is one common problem that ford had, especially with these model Lincoln’s and that would be the windows. I tried messing with them, but they either need new window motors or they need to be taken apart and looked at. I'm not sure what is wrong with them. The drivers side back left quarter panel above the tire has a small dent in it. I was parked in a parking lot and someone tapped the car a little. It's not bad at all and can be easily fixed. I was so mad as they didn't stop, but that's typical of people. The rest of the body is straight, solid, has a few scratches, but that's about it. Like I said, she's not perfect, but it runs STRONG. I don't even want to sell it, but someone else would have better use for it. I just don't have time to do what I want to do to it. The car would be a perfect restoration car if someone wants to take the time to do it or have as a weekend project. I'm open to offers, but PLEASE no low ball offers. I'll keep it before I get rid of it for nothing as it is one hell of a car. I PROMISE you WILL NOT be disappointed. Like previously mentioned, this car runs FLAWLESSLY. I have owned MANY Lincoln Town cars. This era and the 1990's were the BEST years that Ford made a motor that NEVER dies. These cars will EASILY go upwards of 500,000 miles without any problems or hesitations. This car will DEFINITELY make 500,000 miles, if not more, as it has been meticulously taken care of by the previous owners as well as myself. I really didn't have to do much to the car, just replaced the parts that should be replaced when you buy a car. New parts include the following: Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, throttle position sensor, radiator flush with new fluid, and a BRAND NEW battery. . This car is currently up for sale out front of my house. I reserve the right to cancel the sale of this vehicle whether it sells on E-bay or not. Please don't procrastinate and miss the opportunity to own a car that I KNOW you will not be disappointed in. I feel the price of $2,500.00 is a steal. If you notice, some of the other Lincoln’s of this era on this site have a much higher price tag. This vehicle definitely runs and drives just as good as those higher priced models. Take the extra money that you would spend on those higher priced vehicles and use it on this car and you will have an amazing ride, more so than it already is. Heads will definitely be turning. I look forward to working with whoever buys this car as you WILL enjoy it as much as I did. "MORE PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST." For a shipping quote please contact http://www.shipcobalt.com/.
