Customized LOW RIDER Hot Rod Pickup PROJECT! Willing to Sell, full or part trade and may consider parting out. Cab, frame and title must go together.Just retired and Social Security income does not allow me to finish this project. I do not want to sell, but need to. May trade!Updated my costs to date and they total over $8,300. If you send me your email address I can send a fully itemized list of everything I have done to this truck in terms of acquisition costs, fabrication, parts, etc. I am extremely frugal and I would bet that you could not duplicate my costs for less. Most of the difficult and expensive fabrication work is completed. Only 2 items of fabrication remain. Install cowl induction scoop on hood and replace rusty floors in cab with brand new floors from LMC (provided). All else is ready for final body work.See last 5 pictures (20-24) to see what my last one looked like when finished. It had the widened rear fenders, cowl induction style hood and a 1960 chrome grille. Sold for $27,500 to a buyer in SLC. Note: The last 5 pics are for examples only. The truck for sale is disassembled per pics (1-19) and is a project that will require some fabrication and full assembly. Idaho vehicles are very desirable because Boise is a high desert climate with very low humidity and moisture. Sheet metal generally has much less rust than more humid areas of the US.Hard to find (in good condition) custom cab (big back window) cab. Stainless trim on front windshield.Bought a complete straight, rust free short step side bed in excellent condition in Meridian. Here is what has been done so far.Frame shortened to shortbed factory specs by professional fabricator.Converted 66 front end cross member to 78 Chevy cross member with power steering, disc brakes and 5 lug wheels. Also converted from 6 lug to 5 lug. Had Dutchman axles (Meridian) convert rear axles to 5 lug.Differential is a 12 bolt non-positrack with 3:73 gears in good condition. Ideal for towing.Installed new 4" lowered springs in rear to lower back end. Have new 3" Bell Tech dropped spindles for front. Low rider! Can send pics of my last finished truck with the same amount of drop. It looks great!Have all new front and rear brake components, bearings etc. All parts for new suspension including poly bushings.Widened rear fenders 2" to match width of cab and accommodate wider rear tires. Chevy kept the same step side bed from 1955-1966 although they went to a 4" wider cab in 1960-1966. Unless the rear fenders are widened, they sit 2" inside the cab width and look odd coming down the road at you. This modification corrects it.Have two sets of impossible to find Stainless Steel molding for the front windshield. See pics of finished truck.Have rare deluxe steering wheel with automatic shift lever. Cab is a low hump automatic cab.Have a GoodMark steel cowl induction scoop (69 Camaro style) for the hood. See pics of finished truck to see how the hood looks when installed. Many parts have been sandblasted and the balance is ready for sandblast and primer. Have a quote to sandblast and powder coat the frame for $300 in Boise.Cab is in very good condition. No rust on cab corners or rockers.See pics. Floor has rust areas, but have new LMC floors for both sides. Doors fit perfectly on both sides!Removed all wood from step side bed. Rebuilt framework with new hardware to accommodate the new 1/8" diamond plate steel floor. The floor is already cut and ready to install (heavy) Front fenders were rusted at bottoms, but bought new LMC metal patch panels and fender supports and have them installed. Both front and rear fenders are now excellent. Much better quality and fit than the reproduction junk from Asia.Inner fenders are excellent. Inner fenders had rust and I took another set of inner fenders and removed all rust area with good metal. Hood is excellent.Have a gallon of PPG black epoxy primer and a half gallon of catalyst.Includes a Turbo Hydro 400, 3 speed automatic and had it rebuilt with HD parts including a new torque converter.Includes a hard to find Chevy 4 bolt 400 SBC that is bored .030 (406 cubic inch) and a Chevy 400 crank that has been turned .020 under on the mains and journals. Engine has been hot tanked and machined. Have complete new Fel Pro gasket kit for engine.Includes a set of 2.02, 1.60 heads with 76cc open chambers for the 406 SBC engine.Head were on a boat and have very low hours since rebuilt. Z28 springs, SS intake valves, see pics. Steam holes for 400 not yet drilled. Deluxe heater and controls.Vents glass removed from side window for single pane electric window. Have original glass and hardware and also have rear glass for pattern. Bid for $400 to replace all glass including windshield. Side and back glass tinted. Does not include cost of gaskets.Have original front bumper that has had holes filed and bolts added to back for a bolt less custom appearance. Bumper is painted, but is straight enough to chrome.Original 66 aluminum grille in photos is sold. Have a rare 60 grille (one year only) and it is ready for chrome. Perfectly straight. Direct bolt in replacementHave original seat, instruments and other components. Almost everything to complete.NADA shows that this truck in showroom condition is worth $31K. Average retail for a good driver is $16K. I sold the last one I built like this (see last 5 pictures 20-24) for $27.5K in black epoxy primer with a supercharge big block installed. Cab and frame are matching Vin Numbers for Free and Clear Idaho Title.I don't want to sell this truck, but finances dictate that I should. Over $8,300 in actual receipts to get to this point and I am discounting by $2,300 or 28% to get some of my money back. Can email itemized list of all costs to date (no costs for my labor added). Will provide copies of all receipts to buyer. Send me your email address and I can send itemized list of costs and additional photos of the finished truck, if you want them.Willing to do full or partial trade for a Harley or a drive able car or truck of equal value (no cash to add to trade). Sorry, but no projects. I do not have the income to finish one. Will help load, but I am 62. Do have sons and son in laws to assist in loading. Will require a flatbed. Also willing to keep unwanted components like engine/crankshaft//heads/gaskets, transmission, widened fenders, etc and deduct from purchase price if you have other preferences or already have a drive train to use. My reserve is $5,995 for the entire project. Not interested in low ball offers, I have too much invested and this project is too far along. If you are serious about trades or parts please call 208-345-1400 or email kurt at we love idaho dot com and I will respond quickly. Will not part out smaller items until frame/cab and title are sold as a package... first. My itemized list will show you exactly what I have in each component.
