Nice, rare early bus. Registered as a 1962 with original yellow California license plates. Appears to be an early 1963 model. Double Door Walkthrough Panel. Very rare. We enjoy driving it every day but need to cash out to invest in other projects. Bus was complete but needed work to make it road worthy. Spent over $7k going through all of the mechanics of the bus. All new braking system and engine installed. a lot of wiring. See the receipts. Drive it as-is or fix the body if you want, but old original patina is what people want. It's only original once. I just drive it how it is, you see more restored buses than rusty ones and everyone who sees this bus tells me they love it the way it is. It has been used in multiple photo shoots. Just got back from a long round-trip drive to Santa Barbara. Runs great. Have Original Engine and transmission Currently has a beautiful 1600 single port installed. Original engine is in my possession and included in the sale. Left the Factory on October 1st 1962 Destined for New York Factory Cargo doors left and right Factory walk thru Factory RPM limiter 1200cc Factory Radio Delete plate Factory rear view mirror delete It was a Factory Special ordered bus, set aside in the factory and painted with a unique coat of white paint that was not a stock available color. Most of that original paint is still present on the 52 year old bus. We pulled some old cheap black paint off half the bus to reveal the original white. The Paint Code is L-84 WHITE. We have custom matched paint that goes with the bus for a repaint. Look up the paint code. It is not listed on web sites, but that is what is on the M-Plate. It has all original glass. Original bumpers. Never been wrecked. Original walk thru frames. One key does everything on the bus, all handles and ignition. All braking system is new. All 5 wheels original to the bus and have been blasted and powder coated with 5 new tires. Has a full Westy Kit installed. The bus does have a fair amount of rust. But nothing that can't be fixed. Deal with it, or don't bother and just enjoy it. Bought some restoration parts but decided to continue driving like it is. I have new rear corners, doglegs, front floor halves, and a brand new decklid painted to match the rest of the bus, Over $1k of parts and a good start.
